    My Trip Report

    Day 6…our last day

Woke up around 9 and got a start to the day. Took a shower and headed out. We decided to have breakfast at the Café, so I stopped and got us a line pass and made our way to the café. NO LINE!!! Can you imagine on a Friday morning, no one in line at all. We were seated quickly and ordered. I had a three egg omelet with ham, peppers and cheese and hubby had the pancakes. Both meals were great as usual. This is our favorite breakfast spot, though I do wish we had tried one of the restaurants at Wynn for breakfast, it just never happened.
We decided today that we would take a walk and go to Wynn and buy some gifts we had forgotten, we also needed to stop at the Elton John store to get a gift for the dog sitter. So we headed out, we went over to Caesar’s and found the Elton John store, right next to Pure. I got the dog sitter a “BITCH IS BACK†T-shirt, it was black and the words were in silver glitter……..perfect fore her. After that we walked through the forum shops where I stopped at Brighton to get a gift for another friend. From there we made our way out by the new entrance and headed towards Wynn. It was hot, but we had just a short distance to go to Wynn. We made it to Wynn and hubby played a little WPT and made a small profit. We then went to the gift shop and got a t-shirt, two hats and a coffee mug for our collection at home. One of these days I am going to throw away all the none Vegas mugs and still have a ton of mugs!! After shopping a bit we headed back. We walked over the bridge to the Fashion Show then over to TI where we stopped and played some blackjack. This is one of the rare occasions we could sit together and not lose. We had a great time, but then the table started to turn. The old man at First Base was questioning my plays and it annoyed me. Seems he didn’t like that I stayed on my 16 against the dealers 7,( bad play I know, but I hate 16 against a 17). Anyway, he made a comment about it, even though he won the hand!!! Two hands later he didn’t hit his 16 against a Jack!! HELLO, why did you give me a hard time!!! Anyhow, the Karma of the table was gone, so we left. We took the tram to Mirage then walked across to Harrah’s and walked through, walked past IP and into the Flamingo, walked through there, then over the bridge from Barbary to Bally’s and Bally’s to Bellagio. By this time I was thirsty so I stopped and grabbed a Pyramid Hefewiezen at the sports book bar. I went up to the room and hung out for a little bit. Hubby wanted to go to the pool so I met him down there. We had a few drinks and then went up to the room. I stopped at the Fontana and played a few minutes so I could talk to Diane. I played a bit and had a drink or two, and then went to get ready for the evening.
Went up and got ready, then headed back down with hubby for a few more minutes of VP with Diane, had another drink as did hubby and we said our good-byes. I told her I would probably see her in December if we can get the time off. We then went and got the car and headed to Monte Carlo to pick my friends up and go to dinner. We decided on eating at PF Chang’s so we went to the one on Paradise. Service was quick and the food was very good. The last few times there, I was disappointed, I think it could have been that we had been going on our first night in town and we were usually exhausted by the time we had dinner, this time it was our last night. After dinner we stopped and picked up some Champagne, earlier we had gotten Champagne glasses from Diane for the room. I went up and threw it on ice, even though it was already cold. We brought our friends up to the room, they had never seen the Fountains from up there. I am pretty sure they enjoyed it and to top it off, one of the songs was “Time to Say Good-byeâ€. It was awesome. That song gives me goose bumps, especially when I am watching the fountains. It was a perfect last night. After watching we headed back down to gamble a bit with our friends. We gambled a tiny bit, I ended up moving to the Fontana bar and playing and it wasn’t long til the others found me and we headed out to drop them off. After dropping them off we went to South Coast and played a bit. Found a great game and had a blast. Played for about 2 hours then headed back to the Bellagio. When we got back hubby was tired and I wanted to play some more. I went back down to the Fontana and played until the band stopped playing. It was a fun end to the trip. I hit a few 4oaks and cashed out ahead!! I said good-bye to Shawn who unfortunately hadn’t been working my end of the bar that night, and told him hopefully we would be back soon. I had planned to lose every bit in my pocket but couldn’t seem to make that happen LOL I decided it was time to head up. I had already packed and ordered a wake up call for 6am. It was 2 am and I figured I needed some sleep. I sadly walked up to the room, not knowing when we would be back.
I got back to the room, climbed into bed and fell asleep almost immediately, next thing I knew the alarm was going off. We got up, showered finished packing up and headed out. Hubby dropped me off to check in and check the bags, which were overweight but with a little moving around I got them under 50lbs. Waited a few minutes for hubby and then headed to security. The line wasn’t bad, but I always get behind some idiot who doesn’t know what they are supposed to do. The woman in front of me was trying to go through with a long jacket on and her purse!!! It took a few minutes and then I was through security and we were off to the gate. We stopped and had breakfast at the Prickly Pear, then headed to the gates. Our flight was on time and we left Las Vegas at 9am. Now here was something that bugged me. The plane was a song plane and you buy headphones for $2 which is the norm on all Delta planes. The old Song planes have TVs at every seat, which is great. Movies on these TVs are $5 a piece!!!! Okay so you are paying $7 to see the danged movie, when on regular flights you are paying $2, it just didn’t seem right!! Anyway, made it to Atlanta, nice and comfortable in our exit row seats (9d and e) and had a layover of 2 hours in Atlanta which actually turned into 4 hours with delays. We were going out of E terminal in Atlanta so I hit the smoking room there. It was full of soldiers going back from leave and heading to Iraq. They were kids and they were talking, about how they were nervous about going back. I noticed they were sharing a pack of cigarettes and realized I still had 3 packs in my carryon from the carton I bought before we left, so I gave them my cigarettes, I figured it was the least I could do. I had a full pack in purse and didn’t need the ones I had. We talked for a bit longer and they were saying how hard it was to leave their families again. I left the smoking room with watery eyes, especially after one of the guys told me how his 2 year old daughter was crying when he left and begging him not to go.
I went back to the gate and found out we were delayed so we grabbed something to eat and then headed over to the sam adams pub so I could have a summer ale……….well, they didn’t carry it anymore, so I had a hefewiezen and we went back to E terminal where I hit the smoking room again and talked to a solider stationed in Afghanistan, I asked him how it was and he said not so bad, he had been blown up twice and was still here to talk about it. He said he was stationed along the border and it was ugly there. He was a 22 year old from north of Boston, right near where I grew up. He was already an MP, said they made him one almost as soon as he joined, they needed more apparently. After a few minutes there I headed to the gate, I passed the gate our men and women were flying out of, they were headed to Hann Germany then on to Kuwait when they would then either head to Afghanistan or Iraq.
Our flight left an hour late and landed an hour late. We got our luggage and met my parents who were bringing me the car. Things on this trip home were not good, when my parents got there, our brand new 1 month old car had scratches on it. My parents think the neighbor hit it!!! We were not happy, and are getting it fixed this week. There I was thinking parking there would be great and save us $70 instead it cost us $368!!! Oh well, the trip other than that was great.
We look forward to our next trip and have decided we only want to stay at Wynn or Bellagio, both hotels are awesome, Wynn rooms are nicer, but I love gambling at Bellagio. We will take turns staying at each hotel. Mirage was good, service was good, but I am not sure I love the changes.
We didn’t do any shows or any real fancy dinners, but we had a great time. We spent a good amount of time with good friends and that really made the trip special. Though I wanted to stay at Wynn the whole time, I am glad we moved to Mirage to be closer to our friends, they are such wonderful people.
Thanks to all who read my trip Report, I know it was long and boring at times, but it is my way of holding on our trips………..

Sounds like you had a nice trip. I also just got back from, what originally was going to be 5 nights at The Bellagio. We had a beautiful lakeview room on the 18th floor, but, it was so warm in the room, I didn't sleep all night. management seemed like they didn't care, so I checked out and moved to
The Wynn for 4 nights. What a great decision!! I told them I was unhappy with The Bellagio and I had a promotional rate of $149, would they match it. Surprisingly, they did :) We had a beautiful room on the 53rd floor (5340)

While looking for shade at the pools, we ended up at the pool furthest from the entrance, which turned out to be a european pool, which a lot of women were topless! Since there's no way to sit in that hot sun all week, that's where my wife and I stayed. Drinks are expensive, 28 bucks for 2 Miami Vice's

We flew first class on Continental so the line at security was painless. There's a seperate line. Took off on time and landed about 20 minutes early at Newark, although the weather was terrible

Hey Ann...Did you catch any of the Yankees-Boston 5 game series while you were in Vegas? The series you said there was 'No way in Hell' the Yankees were going to sweep!! Hellava series :)

Yankees were 9 games ahead of Boston, so my vacation ended on a great note. :poke:

Can't wait to go back to The Wynn

Ron, mentioning my heartbreak was not nice at all!! Glad you enjoyed Wynn, though I am surprised about the poor service you got at Bellagio. Our service was fantastic at both. The Wynn rooms are amazing and the best on the strip that I have stayed in.
Are you doing a trip report??

I was also surprised about the poor customer service at The Bellagio. Anyway, as I told them, there's way too much competition on the strip, to stand here and argue, so wave the cancellation penalty and I'm outa here!

Sorry about the dig, but since you went to Vegas and then I left...I was about to burst :wink2:

    LOL I bet you were!!!

I hope you wrote Bellagio a letter. They will respond, send it all the way to the top. A few years ago, I had a problem and wrote Bobby Baldwin, I got a great letter back from his executive assistant, and was offered a tour of the place. We didn't do it, but it was nice anyway.

Thanks Ann for the name of someone at the top. Do I write to him in care of The Bellagio?

He really should know about the poor customer service. In addition to being extremely warm in the room, I discovered that my insulin was in a refrigerator that didn't work! When I told the manager, he didn't seem to care. They did deliver a new one, but I was concerned I might have to toss out that vial

We also requested 2 queen beds although we have a king at home. We were told by some airhead named Tammy, that the queen bed rooms are reserved for quads! I know that's complete B.S.

It was just one thing after another, and staying there would have been more trouble than it was worth

Again, thanks for the info on getting some type of satisfaction

Ron, I am not sure Bobby Baldwin is still at Bellagio, he may have a different role now in MGM/Mirage Resorts, that being said, call guest services and ask who the President of the Bellagio is, write him directly.
