Harrah's New Orleans - I was sitting at his desk but I didn't see how, but he did it.

I wonder how he did it. Airlines usually do not release pricing information after a flight, since that might enable someone to reverse engineer the proprietary algorithms they use to create pricing structures. Additionally, there would also be privacy issues and liability if they released that information to third parties.

Is it possible that he was simply pretending to check that information, or just filling out routine paperwork?

I emailed my host to ask if I would get my entire $1003. She said YES!

Her response: Yes you will receive the rounded up amount of your ticket price in free play from Caesars Rewards desk.

When I was at Harrahs New Orleans, all I did was show (give) them a copy of my airline ticket receipts.

    I was wrong.
I have to say I mistaken my trip to New Orleans. It was not my 7* trip, it was an offer to reimburse part of my air fare. My Bad, but I did have to take my
airlines reservation to VIP Services and they did check on my reservation etc.

Yes, I also had a strange experience with my 7* retreat this year. I always go to New Orleans (from Las Vegas) for my Seven Stars trips. New Orleans also offers me free "junkets" during the year and I am a pretty big player there with a great host. BUT this year, my airfare went over the $1200 and they made me pay for the excess. I know that is the rule, but last year and other years when I went over they just covered it. Sad about this.

I have noticed some changes with the flights for the better...no longer 7* but when I first made it in 2014, they wouldnt budge on booking more than myself and guest even if it fit under the $1,200 or if i wanted to pay any overage...now I have had a friend where they payed for him, his wife and son but not the daughter because shes not 21 yet and another friend that between last year and his upcoming trip in a few weeks, they payed for him, his wife, sister in-law and her boyfriend with the $1,200 airfare

Has anyone taken advantage of this offer yet? Did you use the VIP services number or go through your host? Taking the freeplay or reward credits?

    Thanks

I'm also curious if there are any recent experiences.

I just came back from a quick trip to Vegas. Among other things, I earned 5k+ Tier Credits to get 120k in GGWU points. Earning those 5000 TCs also got me to 160k TC so now I'm Seven Stars again after being Diamond for the first six months of the year (which I think means I also get the Diamond $100 certificate this year). My online account was updated the following morning while I was still in Vegas.

I'm heading back to Vegas at the end of the month. I'm flying with a combination of paid airfare one way, and points the other though I paid $120 to upgrade to Delta Comfort so all in my airfare cash costs are about $870. I'm thinking about making my upcoming trip my retreat trip to get the free play and $500 folio credit that I can use as I'll be in Vegas for a while though double booked (actually quadruple booked!) with Encore.

If we can still get the $1200 in FP if you purchase your own fare I might do this later in the year when my round trip airfare may be more than $1200. Decisions, decisions.

I did my 7* retreat in April and stayed at CP. I got everything I normally get. My airfare came to $1003. I went to Caesars Rewards desk they give my a voucher to pick up $1005 worth of FP at the cashier. I got the $500 folio, plus I had $500 experience credit folio.
I went with a couple friends and my host comped both of our connecting rooms In Augustus Tower . She also added an offer for $500 FP I had to use at Harrah's because Caesars was blocked. My host also took us to lunch ate Harrah's Oyster bar and picked up the tab for three of us for the food and drinks. Of course, I gave my usual thank you card with an appropriate "Thank You" in it.
    No problems or complaints.

BTW, I did pay for resort fees on their room.

Oghuman, Thanks so much for the info. It sounds like your host took care of things as one would hope she would do.

My CET offers in Vegas are pretty lame at this point but still worth double booking and I thought the Seven Stars retreat trip could be "layered" over a regular offer. That sounds like that is still the case.

I hope this is the case. I have a $375 free play offer and am going with a group of friends in August so I'm hoping to add in my 7 stars retreat on top of it.

I already booked a flight using Southwest points for that trip though. Does anyone know if that qualifies for the $1200 in RCs or does it have to be a paid flight?

AFAIK, it doesn't matter HOW you get there. You could DRIVE and they will still reimburse you (up to $1200) in FP.

I'm not sure, but I thought it has to out of pocket not Airline points. What do you have to prove how much you paid? I paid $1003 and presented the flight receipt to Rewards desk and they reimbursed me $1005 in FP. Whenever I used points I can't remember that they've given me a receipt that shows dollar value. I've held up using points just because I thought they wouldn't reimbuse me.

I'm not going for the FP so I don't have to worry about the exact reimbursement amount. I paid about $5 in taxes on top of the points so I technically spent something. I wonder how this would work if I would've chosen to use my flight benefits as an airline employee and gone free on standby. That probably wouldn't have worked.

Something tells me if you pay with points you are out of luck. My return flight I paid with points but I paid about $135 on my CC for an upgrade so I'm assuming I'm getting that $135 and then the roughly $750 I am paying to fly TO Vegas via MINT, for a total reimbursement of about $880. I thought about making my retreat later in the year when my RT fare would be closer to or over $1200 but with this long trip coming up I could really use the $500 folio credit in a way that would harder to do during a shorter trip, especially since my entire retreat is a double book; I'll be staying at Encore.

Amended to say: If we are talking about the offer, then yes, it sounds like you get what the offer provides, regardless of what you paid for your airfare. I am referring immediately above to the regular Seven Stars up to $1200 reimbursement for airfare.

@Sfgiants13 are you saying you are going to use the Seven Stars Retreat and opt for the 120,000 in Reward Credits? If so you don't need to worry about any flight receipt. You also don't need a flight receipt for up to $900 in free play. As long as you booked under the "limited time offer" in post number 2 of this thread. But if you want free play between $900 to $1,200 then you probably need to present a flight receipt for two to justify more than $900 in free play.

Correct. I was going to opt for the RCs.

Cool. The RC's are more flexible than the $500 Resort Credit you also get as part of the Seven Stars Retreat. The RC's can be used for any charges including shows and spas. The Resort Credit is (usually) limited to food and drink and will probably include the sales tax since you need to charge to the room to use the Resort Credits.

What are your plans with all those RC's? Going to use them on this trip or bank them?
