My last trip I stayed at Flamingo as I had many times before & it was awful. I am second tier Diamond & the Go Room I had asked for was not available. I was put in Fab room that had been "renovated", except for the new flooring & fuzzy throw on the bed all the furniture was scratched or scraped up. The bathroom was the smallest I had ever seen there. If you sat on the toilet you could barely close the door. They did move me the next day to a Go room that was not much better. For my May trip I will be staying at the Linq.

I've heard a lot of folks bash the Red Rooms at Paris, too. They're always fine to me. I dunno. Maybe I'm not so picky. To be fair, I haven't stayed at Flamingo since 2009. But I don't think I'd say a room was "terrible" just because the furniture was scratched up. It's a hotel room, in Vegas. It gets used hard and put away wet, all week long. As long as the room is clean and reasonably quiet, I'm not letting a room affect my vacation.

I think sometimes it is the luck of the draw - some rooms are in better shape than others. Until that last trip I never had a room at Flamingo that I complained about. Afterwards I thought this is what other people are complaining about. Up until then I had just gotten lucky.

i never had a problem stayin in the CET hotels(first 15 times the ip with their dreadfull elevators->most of the times it worked and got sneaky into the back elevators)PH was a bit less..paris i loved(but hey i had suites there) Caesars was great too (no suite but it looked like one, great view of fountains only less thing was a minibar and no fridge)..anyway last couple of times i stayed at ballys in jubilee tower and they were decent room nothing wrong with......just have a question for you guys....is it so that the hotelroomprices exploded? last year i got a great deal of my host and i payd 680 for 34 nites(multiple reserv) i thought that was an awesome deal( i am a diamond member by the way) now i want to go for 44 nites(10 nights more) and i have to pay 1500 more(pretty high increase for 10 nites more 2100 now)..do you diamondmembers(sybgal maybe?) if this is normal and have the prices indeed increased so much?

It might have to do with the dates you are going to be there. 44 nights is a really long time! The longest I've stayed was 9 nights at Caesars.

Last fall I stayed at Bally's. It was a solo trip and the room was cheap, but I doubt I'll stay there again unless changes are made.

The sink kept backing up from someone else's shower or sink. This is after I washed it out a number of times. It reached the countertop.

The last time I stayed at Bally's was before room renovations started. The bed was lumpy and decor was outdated but other than that, I found it fine.

That's the beauty of Vegas. You won't miss them and they won't miss you. Love all the options Vegas offers.

Booked a go room for my dad last march at Flamingo, it was really nice. Maybe it's an isolated incident

Returned yesterday. We have stayed at Flamingo far too many times to remember. Our expectations are not high, we know we "get what we pay for". We were comped but opted for the 25.00 a night upgrade to Go Room. We overlooked the High Roller. First time with bathroom with no tub. Shower was larger though. Line ups at check in were so horrendous. We are the lowest tier of Total Rewards. The elevators were frankly scary. Doors not closing, stuck a couple times and random stops on every floor.
Made for some fun conversations though! We used the gym almost everyday. Many treadmills out of order. Very small.
Sad to see the buffet closed most nights. Also sad to see coffee shop closed.
Things just seemed different this trip. Still can't beat location but I am not sure we will book again. We ate at the restaurants on the Linq sidewalk all five nights. All great meals.
Stayed off strip at Orleans for last two nights. Night and day experience...........but of course location totally different too.
I did manage to get a Royal Flush and a dealt 4 aces with the kicker on a three play machine at Flamingo..........so maybe they will want me back??!!........lol

I stayed in a Flamingo Fab room for 9 days last Sept and other than the bathroom being on the smaller side, I had no complaints. The room had flat screen TV, plenty of closet space, comfortable king sized bed, easy chair and full sized couch. Housekeeping kept the room spotless everyday. I just returned from a 4 night stay at Bally's a week ago, staying in a large room on the 24th floor of the Indigo tower. Yes the carpet and the furniture showed some age, but the room and fixtures were clean. I agree that the Jubilee tower has nicer rooms, but I can't complain about my Indigo room taking into consideration of price, room size, prime Strip location and cleanliness of the room. Some people are more fastidious than others...I'm a low maintenance type of guy; doesn't take a whole lot to please me...but, I won't put up with a dirty room...ever. I've stayed at Bally's over a dozen times the past 10 years and never had a bad room. I'll be staying at the Flamingo for 5 nights next month...looking forward to it. I've stayed at the Encore, Palazzo and the Venetian several times....yeah, their rooms are a lot nicer than at Bally's and Flamingo, but I paid a hell of a lot more for their rooms and like a lot of ardent Vegas visitors, I don't spend a lot of time lounging around in my hotel room...too many other things to do in Vegas.

I really must be getting lucky at my Flamingo stays, I've NEVER had any issue with it being dirty or uncomfortable. I get comped there all the time, so that's what keeps me coming back.
Then again, I am one of these people there are "conscious" in the room for 3% of the trip (shower, change, pack, unpack). So maybe I don't notice.

Nice to see nothing has changed since September then. Half of the elevators were down for maintenance and 2 of the remaining 6 would stop on every single floor even though no buttons were pushed. It would literally take 15-20 minutes to wait for an elevator to get from a high floor to the casino. We also heard someone talking about an elevator stopping about 2 feet below the actual floor and everyone had to step up to get out. I have no idea how a property continues to operate like that but apparently they are!

We were in the main tower? Not sure of name, not Habitat and not Spa. We overlooked the pool and the High Roller. The view was great. Room number was 22073. Very quick right turn off the elevator. Very nice location. Housekeeping was terrific..........

I had stayed at the Flamingo about 6 years ago with my girlfriend and enjoyed it. That was one of my first trips to Vegas though.

Now even after the remodel, I stayed about 6 months ago and absolutely hated it. Wood floors? Open space? What the fuck?! Not to mention the bathroom was terrible. I have stayed at a multitude of other TR properties, and even their most basic rooms were fine (how often are you in the room anyway, ya know?) - but this was just something else.

I agree with ya, and I'd never stay at the Flamingo again!

    Quality time for me!

btodd - part of the cut-back on restaurant & the buffet hours (still has brunch & 2 supper nights per week) was exactly because of the Linq restaurants you mentioned. All are within a 3 to 4 minute walk from the buffet & former café location. So not much reason for CET to try to maintain those facilities themselves when they can just collect rent on the ones in the Linq alley. I miss the café.

    liked my stay

I stayed at Bally's last June, but it was in the new tower. I was on a high floor. I went into my stay not expecting much out of Bally's, but i loved my room and the service I got. So much that if I do not stay at Mirage this year, I want to try to get the same exact room this time around.
