Just got an email from Gloria, my host at MSS. I was gonna book four nights at Cal Nov 6-10. No such luck. Cal is sold out most of those nights, and all three Boyd hotels are sold out on Nov. 8. I went ahead and asked for Nov. 6-7, but hate the idea of moving mid-stay. Oh well.

Anybody know what's going on that week?

Veterans day is observed on Nov 10 so a lot of people have a 3 day weekend. I think that's part of it.

Did not realize Veterans Day was in there when we reserved 7-11 back in July. We gave a bunch of dates that trip through January. Only October (at that time) looked tough. But we got it after some time passed (i think November 12 or 13 was the problem).

At last, and finally it's close.

Yeah, Vets Day was part of the reason we chose that week. Came the last week last year, which encompassed Election Day, even voted absentee before we left home.

I must have booked earlier...good lesson for the kids out there. DON'T PUT OFF BOOKING! I guess I'll try 4Q for the other nights....anybody know their current casino rate?

What are you talking about? I can book any date in Nov at Fremont, not full at all.
Maybe it's "full" for comped room?

Hey JeJas, thanks so much! I just picked up the phone, and was able to get the Fremont for the four nights, three comped. Not sure what my host was seeing. Really appreciate the head's up!

Probably because your host works for Cal and MSS. Fremont is separate and they don't book for it

That can be a busy week SEMA runs to the 3rd and there's probably a PBR event in town. Probably some other stuff happening too and then I think the event calendar starts slowing down a bit more with the rodeo.
