Worried about construction. Has anyone stayed at Harrah's New Orleans lately?

    I know this is very a specific question, but here's to hoping!

    Currently, I have a reservation for Harrah's New Orleans next week (arrive Monday, leave Friday). Recently, I've come across several unflattering reviews concerning very noisy construction, with some saying that it starts as early as 6:30 AM. I will be working inside the room during the day until about 4:30, so I really need a reasonably quiet room, especially when leading meetings.

    Has anyone stayed recently that can offer any insights into just how extensive the construction is?

    I am going during an off-peak time and staying mid-week, so I am hoping that I can be moved somewhere quiet, but I also am considering cancelling and staying elsewhere.

    <start rant>
    When I called Harrah's directly to ask about the construction, they checked the construction schedule and said that they will be working on different floors and different sides of the hotel each day. However, they wouldn't confirm hours, specifically, they didn't rule out 6:30 AM or earlier starting times when I directly asked about that.

    Kinda bummed that:
    1) They didn't disclose the construction on their website (I asked why not and I was told, at first they did, but that they stopped after a week. My guess is that people were cancelling).
    2) If I am affected by the construction, they are still charging full freight.
    3) They are performing the work seemingly at random, resulting in a much higher number of guests being inconvenienced (OK, I get that this also means that an unlucky few aren't inconvenienced every day, but I still want to complain! :))
    <end rant>

    We were there the first of June and had no idea there was any construction. Will be there again soon and will try to update.

    Thanks y'all, you've put my mind at ease enough to not cancel my reservation :)

    Between the stories I was reading and the expected rain, I was starting to think this trip had some bad voodoo, but I'm back to being jazzed now!
