I've been on mandatory WFR (work-from-robe -- I rarely wear pants these days), and it's actually preferable to my office. I have dual 32" monitors, a better desktop stack, and I can control the temperature. And for the last two years I've had my office phone forwarded to my mobile anyway, so it's not like anyone doesn't know how to reach me.

Only real issue for me is that, much like NY courts deal mostly with faxes, many gaming regulators send physical letters still and won't deal with email. Which means that once a week or so I need to call over and get a security escort up to my office.

The real issue is going to be when companies start instituting actual furloughs and cutting off email access. i don't know what's going to happen then.

I’ve had a home office for while, working at home once in a while, but now am full time, as is most of my office. Just grateful to be still working. Microsoft Teams has been pretty helpful in keeping everyone in touch.

I honestly had no idea this feature existed on Zoom. I use Zoom constantly, but everyone uses it as just a conference call bridge as opposed to a video chat, and sometimes to display spreadsheets and such. Most of our company-issued laptops don't even have a camera. On an average 20-person call, maybe one person has video on (usually because they're on their personal computer, or before WFH started, because they were in one of the teleconference rooms), and everyone else is quietly thinking to themselves, "We do not want to look at you right now".

I started on Tuesday. I hate it. My connection is awful but it works. Just disconnects about every 25 minutes. Then a 2 minute cycle back in. Every so often my husband will get bored and whips the door open & start yapping about ‘How are you doing?’. (He works nights).

Mom went into hospital unresponsive on Wednesday. So I’ve been with her most of the time since Thursday. Only one person allowed. Kids can’t come. Hubby can’t even come. So a few days off.

Still commuting to work! I have the entire office set up for remote. Two people on self isolation (one traveling and one illness) One should be back on Tuesday but the other seems to have a bronchitis thing going so who knows. We also got attacked by ransomware last week not long after setting up everyone - coincidence? We lost four days of production in our busiest time of the year. We are taking precautions at the office limiting client contact to minimum with all the aids, sprays and masks. Outside of home, office and perhaps a run to the grocery store, we are very limited in contact with the rest of the world. Our office building is at @ 5% attendance right now so not a lot of public entering the building. We tried a few days remoting for everyone but, it is still unproductive and inefficient. We are good to go if we have to but, hoping to perhaps just rotate people at home a couple days per week. We still have too much paper from clients and a need to review with staff as much as we are well under way to paperless ourselves.

With the 2 week closure here in Ontario I am working from home as is everyone else from our company. We are excluded from the shutdown but decided to keep the office closed for the time being. I am able to work from anywhere and had done so largely from on the road for many years. The last 18 months through the road work has changed and I have been pretty much handling things from the office. So technically this is 'new' being forced to work from home all the time. I don't have a dedicated space to work from so I end up just sitting on the couch for the most part. I do have a computer and desk in the basement but the cats litterbox is right next to it and there isn't a better place for it. Once it warms a bit more I'll start using the garage. Never thought I would miss the office but I do.

Thank you. Not supposed to. Now just a matter of waiting. That’s the hard part. So frustrating. My dad went fast and that was a blessing. I’ve just been sitting here reading and surfing.

We have CenturyLink & are at end of a line. .7 connection speed. (Note the decimal point lol). Lucky I can work at all. They checked all lines for upgrading etc 2 years ago with govt funding to make sure everyone had internet. Then never completed it. When we checked as to why they didn’t upgrade we were told ‘No one responded that they wanted it’. ???? To what? They never sent a mailer, never asked anyone. Yet they insist no one responded. We & next house down have been asking for better service for years. I don’t really know where to complain appropriately to.

I am working from home too...I am not as crazy about it as I much prefer the human interaction, and it feels harder to be on conference calls..But I guess this is the new norm for now and I have to try to get used to it!

I've been working from home for 2 weeks. And will probably at least thru 5/1. I don't normally have an office space so I had to makeshift one. But I have the best new co-worker!

I have G.I.Joe on for ambiance as I text a few of my students' families to see how they're doing.

If we’re going on 80s cartoons, don’t forget Thundercats and DuckTales.

Thank you! She's my best buddy! We found her as a stray and ended up getting one of those DNA test kits to find out her breed. It came back 80% or more Portuguese Podengo Site-hound and 10-20% Australian Terrier. It stated that one of her parents had to be pure bread Portuguese Podengo. I had never heard of that breed but after looking it up it is her characteristics for sure. They come in 3 sizes and she would be the wire hair pequeno size.
