I have been to Vegas many times, but always in Spring, Summer, or early Fall. I just booked a trip over New Years, making it our first ever trip in the Winter. I know the weather is colder than many realize in the Winter, but is it still at least sunny, or is it typically overcast/cloudy? Coming from Wisconsin, we rarely see the sun in the Winter. It is overcast most days from November to March. It looks like "typical" high temperatures are mid-50s during the day, which will feel "warm" coming from Wisconsin at that time of year, but getting a few days of sunshine sounds even better than the "warm" temperatures.

We tend to visit Oct or December and often have lovely sunny weather. We spend a lot of time out on our Cosmo balcony - we just add layers & bring a travel blanket ;-) You can look at historical data on weather sites - for instance, here is Jan 2024 for Las Vegas - mostly sunny most days https://www.wunderground.com/calendar/us/nv/north-las-vegas/KVGT/date/2024-1

(I always like to present objective data here, because many people will say - as I did - oh, it was nice in december last year....But you can look at averages and historical data too)

Thanks! I have been looking at future forecasts and monthly averages, but those really only give temperatures. The historical data in your link is very helpful.

Bring your sunglasses. Bring a heavier sweater. Bring lots of money. You should be set…

It can be a mix of sunny or cloudy/rain depending on the month. And it definitely gets colder than one thinks in the desert.

Have been multiple times in Nov, Dec and Feb. Days are usually sunny, a little on the cooler side. I always found that pants/jeans and hoodie were more than enough for being out in the day. I did experience one trip where it did rain a little but not much and was only one day.

The nights are a different story. Once the sun goes down, it gets cold. I remember one December trip where it was actually colder in Vegas than it was in Toronto.

After experiencing the "dry heat" a month ago, I'll take Nov/Dec weather in Vegas each and every time!

Toronto? That certainly doesn't look like a Leafs logo in your avatar!

Odds favor you seeing sun and it should be a nice break from the midwest gray. It will be chilly at night, but the most I've ever worn is a thin leather jacket.

I have had a couple of trips where the tail end of atmospheric rivers were hitting LV and it was overcast, occasional drizzle, and really windy. One Jan trip, we even had snow flurries. These are the exceptions

I always am in Vegas on Superbowl weekend, so beginning of February. Usually the weather is quite nice. Sunny, but chilly. Nothing a good hoody and a sports jacket can't solve.
Pro Tip: The absolutely best "temperature regulation thing" is your old suit-jacket. It is Never to warm, but can be another layer of onioning if you feel like getting cold. Never, ever failed me in February. Also blocks the blasting air con away in warmer months.
