Two grand for a full house...that's why!

But you're betting $30 a hand too...;) Glad to see Cosmo has 8/6 Boner at dollar+ levels I'm guessing. Nice hit! Now go find a 10X quad! Or even better! ;)

Should you even ask someone who goes by luvstp? Agree with tringlomane.....Go get a 10x quad.

Yeah...unfortunately their DSTP is 8/5 at the same levels.

Oh, and I found a bar at Cosmo that doesn't bother with drink tickets - the HL bar. Of course, the price of admission is a $5 game...:rolleyes2:

Uh-oh, I hate to ask, but is that the right play, or should you dump the twos there?

Two pair is the right play unless the base paytable is 6/5 "Flaccid" Deluxe (95.36% before STP) like at the CET bartops. Assholes. For DDB, two pair is correct, unless it's Aces, even at 6/5!

Breaking this hand is probably the most common mistake I see players make though on games where two pair only pays 5. Players figure they have 5 either way, why not go for 250 (or 400 for Boner Deluxe)? Well that full house comes in a LOT more than quads from a pair.

Another way to look at this; at the $5 bet, 5 credit level, this is a $1.88 mistake* every time you make it. And by VP standards, that's a somewhat big mistake.

It surprised me how big a mistake it is, I thought it would be a closer call.

(* How I calculate this using the WinPoker output below. The right hold will pay on average 7.9787 x {bet size}. The QQ hold will pay on average 7.6031. The difference is 0.3756 x {bet size}, so 0.3756*$5 = $1.878 )

WinPoker doesn't simulate the 6th credit STP bonus, so you can think of this calculation as being a minimum error cost; the 6th credit just amplifies the error. So the cost will be more than $1.88 each time you make it at a $5, 6 credit STP game.

Another example of why I continue to be addicted to STP:

Nice hit! Cosmo should have 8/6 Boner w/STP on the Superstar units at the bar for 50c/$1, fyi. I was also surprised they offered 8/5 as cheap as nickels on the floor and dimes at the bar!

Not at the $ amount thecarve plays, but the 10x quad is super cool when it hits:

Wow, great hit! Been so long since I got a 10X quad...definitely don't come often enough!

Forgot about this one - about gave me a damn heart attack! It's nice to get a HP from a flush. But that Ace woulda been $158,800 nicer!

Is the multiplier number disappearing before you take the picture or am I missing something?

Nice hits! To me STP is like crack, but Ultimate X is like crack on steroids!
That's true. And considering the fact that any extended session of Ultimate X leaves me penniless and mumbling incoherently to myself, I suppose it's a more appropriate proxy for crack than STP!
