We live in Niagara on the Lake (cute little wine country tourist town for those not in the know - think mini-Napa) about 15 minutes from the Falls. We operate a B and B. I really try to avoid the little main street unless I am forced to go with f and f. I have been down the main street once in the last six months yet live 10 minutes away. While I get frustrated at not being able to make a left hand turn between July and September onto the main road to town, I simply detour along the lesser known farm concessions and take a slower drive to where i want to go. I certainly don't resent the tourists in any way shape or form. They are the lifeblood of our economy around these parts. We do go to Fallsview Casino enough that we get valet for free so other than an extra ten minute drive, not too bad. We definitely don't go to Clifton Hill or stroll along the parkway mid-summer. Unlike Vegas, in offseason, weeknights, you can easily shoot a cannon down most of the streets without scratching anyone.
