As it stands, we're about 70% sure we're going next Wednesday. First two nights at Mandalay Bay will be easy to avoid people since it's a spaced out casino and usually quiet. Cosmo for the weekend might be a challenge, but I can easily avoid a bank of slots if it looks like Coronaville USA.

I book MB for that reason too. I'm scheduled for PH on the weekend. Too costly to leave early so may be hanging in the room a bit more. Not a bad thing.

    UPDATE **

Well I think the decision is now made, wife will wake up in the morning to my decision but if vegas wasn’t restricted enough, now all bars to close, and masks to be worn at the pool... image that tan line. I was looking forward to getting the fuck outta here. I just can’t go out there and walk around.

We love sitting at bar tops playing poker and relaxing. I have no issues with the mask, thought actually a good safety measure. He should just shut it all down because in essence the few hardcore people willing to deal with the previous restrictions are probably thinking like me.

I understand things are bad but we can still walk around hand in hand and protest just not at the Chandelier bar, Vuebar or long bar..

unless my wife threatens to socially distance herself from me, were not going. When I calm down and rationalize the situation I’ll update final answer.

Two trips booked - one next week (CP) and another first week of August (CP/MGM). Although I'll be travelling to Yosemite for at least a portion of the second trip - TBD how long. I figure it will be a good chance to see that park since they're limiting capacity (reservations required).

@ffejry - I feel so bad for you since you were anxious to go but also pondering whether going was right for you.

Better days are coming. I don’t know when but I’m hoping we turn the corner on this soon.

We are here right now at the Golden Nugget, scheduled to move to Flamingo on Saturday and fly out Monday. Probably going to be looking for arrangements to get out of here Saturday when I wake up tomorrow. Also have a pool day reserved tomorrow but no way am I sitting out there if they implement the mask rule. I will try to update with what I hear tomorrow/later today

forcing people to wear masks when outside and socially distanced is hilarious.
i'd love to see an attempt at enforcing this actually take place. sisolak mentioned masks when not 'swimming'- what's swimming? me in a jacuzzi? what if my toe is dipped in the water? and what about 'private' cabanas?

who will enforce this-lifeguards? they already are dealing with 2 20 something couples who think a chicken fight is entertaining and diaperless toddlers running around while the mom is reading eat pray love while enjoying a daiquiri and xanax.
i don't see the cocktail waitresses caring, as their primary income is from me ordering $25 drinks, which obviously won't occur if she's telling me to keep a mask on.

We don’t smoke, don’t drink, don’t go to the pool, don’t really like big crowds, doesn’t bother us to wear mask all the time. This trip is going to be great.

We're going! Of course that could change in the next 3 days, but as it stands, we're going. We never went to the actual bar; why pay $10 for a drink at the bar when I can get a free drink at the slot that costs me $100 before the waitress comes back LOL. I'm excited to see how quiet it is next week, I hate crowds so this should be fun. This will likely be my last trip to Vegas though until it's more normal. I'll do a trip report with lots of pictures!

Still planning to go in August, but the way things keep changing, who knows. Hoping the casinos don't shut down again before then.

The no drinking at bars may kill this one for me. Furnace Bar at DTG serves food, so I am going to wait until I get clarification from the property before I make my decision. If that is closed, I'm out. My decisions have always been based on if I'm able to do what I like doing. If I can't play bar top VP, there's no reason to go.

Right now, I believe pools are open with masks to and from the pool area. If/when he goes back to a full phase one, and eliminates pools, I will immediately move my trip to August.

I'm right there with you (socially distanced). Don't smoke, don't drink, don't care for pools, and don't like crowds. Well... I was gonna try pools in Vegas, but not in the current environment. Maybe in future years.

What the hell is left for me and & wife to do, then? We had already planned on renting a car and driving out during the day to sight-see and returning in the evening to gamble. Also, I have a slot tournament. It's gonna be great. Flight in 2 days.

Agreed 100%. Definitely let us know what clarification you get from DTG as this will strongly influence whether I return. I'm curious also as to how this could affect drink service throughout the casinos. For example, at DTG, the cocktail waitresses get their drinks from Furnace. If Furnace "closes" can it still prep drinks for table and slot players? I am no expert but from my observation it seems like this is how it works at most of the DT casinos - the D uses Longbar, etc. If all of those are closed, will there be drink service at all? Obviously the massive strip properties have service bars tucked away in the back so could still provide service to players but this presents a unique challenge for smaller properties.

Well, we decided yesterday that our planned trip in August is on. Received our comped rooms, caught up on some cancelled (and not reimbursed) flights...AND the news about the bars reared it's head. I tend to like playing VP at the bartops because of better drink service, but wifey like playing VP on the floor (hence why we are staying at Harrahs). It will suck, but right now we are still going. Might turn out that I revert to my younger days and play a lot of table games. Stay tuned!!

The idea of wearing a mask when laying by the pool is ridicules--I can't believe they will require that. No way would I have a mask on while trying to get a tan--LOL-I can just imagine the tan lines. And in my open you are usually closer to other people in the pool as people move around.
We are scheduled for Aug 27th for 1 week so will just wait and see what other rules are in forced before that and also see if the Mirage will finally open before any decision is made.
This is the 3rd date we had to book and luckily Delta has bee fantastic with changing dates.
