You may like the Hanalei IPA if you find it near you. I’ve seen enough of your posts to know (or at least make a strong guess as to) what you will like

Thanks! I was very discreet but the crew was not particularly observant. Later during the session a guy fired off like five pictures WITH FLASH before the side dealer said no pictures. The pit boss and other dealers did not notice. Lol

Just catching up, this is a great report! We went to Vegas when I was pregnant with our first daughter (she is now 24......lol), we had a great time even though I could not partake in my favourite Vegas activity. Enjoy your time together as a couple...…….good luck and have fun!!!

    Yesterday was a whirlwind! Here’s some snapshots…

We woke up and wanted to grab Dapper Donut (great mini-donuts) before LadyFox’s Massage and Facial. So we hiked from PHo to MGM… in the rain. I wasn’t wearing a rain jacket and was pretty soaked by the time we got to MGM.

Dapper Donut is down in the Underground, which is the tunnel that connects the parking garage to the casino. We turn the corner and… instant confusion. It’s not there! I ask the guy at the ice cream shop next to it and apparently it closed permanently a month ago! Oh no! Confusion turned to heartbreak (probably too strong of a word). LadyFox tells me pregnancy cravings are real and heartbreak is an appropriate description. The donuts weren’t world-class by any stretch but we had so many good memories associated with them which is why the disappointment.

Good donuts used to live here:

    So instead breakfast became this:

LadyFox caught an Uber to her facial/massage while I walked to Excalibur to play $5 craps.

The craps game at Excalibur had a dealer who was brand new to the game and didn’t really know what she was doing. It was a good group on my side of the table and everyone was patient with her. But multiple times I had to correct payoffs and make sure my bets were accurate. It was a more analytical playing of the game than usual, which in its own way was kind of fun.

The session was fruitful after three great rollers, almost back to back, excluding me.

    Ended the session up $565.

By that time LadyFox’s facial/massage was almost done so I walked up to Hell’s Kitchen to meet her for lunch.

It was a really comfortable environment. I would call it semi-formal. The service was quick and top-notch.

We opted for the tasting menu which included either soup or salad, a beef wellington, and sticky toffee pudding. We got one soup and one salad between us so we could try both. The salad was excellent and the pumpkin soup was unusual but really tasty.

I also got the wine pairing. I didn’t snap a pic of the menu so I couldn’t tell you what they were except for the dessert Port (see bottle).

The food and service was a tremendous value for the price. It was our kind of place.

After lunch, LadyFox wanted to rest in the room, so I headed over to Cosmo to play some more craps.

I of course had DripDrop in my water bottle after a bunch of wine for lunch:

It was a $15 table and I bought in for $300 to start. That disappeared very quickly and I needed to reload ($300) to max out my odds (3x 4x 5x) at Cosmo.

The low point was somewhere around $200 in my tray, out of a $600 buyin. Well we had an excellent run with some great shooters including me. I hit the All Tall twice and both times was one number away from the All Small (and consequently the Make Em All).

We got quite a bit of action for the dealers as well and thankfully were hitting (mainly putting them on the passline with odds me or come with odds). I did have $1 for the crew on the All Tall when I hit it.

After several hours and a bunch of drinks (pictured is an espresso martini), we cash out for:

    What a run!

LadyFox shows up and is happy for the victory. We are back in the black for the trip and make the walk to Luxor for Blue Man Group.

We dink around on slots to no effect while waiting for the show to start

The show was… okay. As soon as we stepped in the theater the coordinator asked us if we would help with the show, but gave us no details as to what that meant. Not one to shirk responsibility, I agreed. He said we need to sit in the back on the side and then during the show he’d escort us down to our seats. I told LadyFox either we are part of a “celebrity couple” or “showed up late” gimmick.

    It was the latter.

About 20 minutes into the show, the coordinator told us to follow him. In the middle of an act on stage and the center aisle, we interrupt the whole thing by being ushered to our seats while a spotlight and camera is on us and a song is playing that says “You’re Late! You’re Late! You’re Late.”

It was funny playing the fool.

The show was fine, but not very entertaining. At this point in the franchise, it seems they’re just milking it. Our tickets were somewhere around $180 combined and the value was not there. Oh, well. Now we can say we saw Blue Man.

After the show we took an Uber up to Yard House at the Linq… only to find it CLOSED FOR A PRIVATE EVENT! Something for one of the conferences in town this week. Our restaurant plans are bending under the stress test.

I was starving and getting grumpy. LadyFox suggested Guy Fieri’s Vegas Kitchen at Linq. Some of the cruises we take have a Guy Fieri themed burger place that we really like, so this wasn’t a completely random suggestion.

Well… what a great surprise. I can unequivocally say the Mac and Cheese Burger was the best burger I’ve ever had. I am a big burger guy and truly that burger is magical. It’s covered in a delicious mac and cheese, bacon, onion straws and other toppings. The fries were coated with a great seasoning and were a perfect complement to the burger.

After dinner we walked back to Cosmo and low-rolled for awhile. Again, no real hits but did get to try the new WestWorld game.

Thanks! It does seem trickier to do Vegas without being able to drink, but on behalf of all fathers and fathers-to-be I think I can say thanks for carrying the little ones and taking care of them :nworthy: thanks for the good luck!

@whitefox It was fun looking at how your chip rack grew at the Cosmo craps table. Probably not crucial but you have placed your high value chips on the sides of your rack, I make a habit of putting them in the middle to avoid sticky fingers.

Thanks! Yeah, great call. I need to get better at that. I’m usually a little more aware of that when I’m shoulder to shoulder with others. Thankfully, the table was not crowded at Cosmo. When I walked by last night, it was another story. They were all jam packed.

Well I was on a craps table at The D and one dude kept crowding me (and my rack) for no discernible reason and so he made me nervous. Didn't help that he later asked for a "tip" after I hit the All (when a lady and not him was the shooter). Probably not a issue for you at the Cosmo but if you always do the same safe things (like locking your car doors after you park) then safety will be automatic.

Enough of distracting from your trip report. . . .

I'll be flying in the day you leave, but you can bet I'll be following along until then! I'll also be staying at the Cosmo and can say, those pork buns (and the ramen!!!) at Momofuku are fantastic! David Chang knows good food!

I love Guy Fieri's place at the Linq - I've been going there since it opened, and I've never had a bad meal. If they still do brunch, I highly recommend it. They used to have a mixed berry pancake shortbread thing that I loved!

Also maybe throw some of that rain to next week? I love storms in Vegas! :D

    Hmm.... What's this doing here?
A fun show and good-lookin' company at my favorite resort! Let's go!
