Hey all,

Straight-forward math question here. Maybe the answer will be meaningful for others to see too.
In AC, playing $1 max bet video poker at Caesars, I have found FP 8/5 Bonus Poker earning $25/tier, and 7/5 Bonus Poker earning $10/tier.
CET also has their daily tier bonuses for reaching thresholds of 500/1000/2500/5000.

I am hoping someone can help me understand the relative expected outcomes of meeting these thresholds between these two options?
8/5 has the more favorable house edge, but 7/5 earns the points much faster.

8/5 BP at $25/TC will cost you 20.75c in EV per earned TC.
7/5 BP at $10/TC will cost you 19.85c in EV per earned TC.

Obviously the best play is to go during a TC multiplier event. For example, Earn 2,500 * 5 = 12,500 + 5,000 daily kicker = 17,500 TC.

Of course. I was curious which of these options is likely to be less expensive, whether "double-dipping" or just in general. Thank you for the information. It is good to know that, with a particular point target in mind, the 7/5 game is likely to be less expensive, in addition to taking 60% less time.

I’m pretty sure the Caesars properties in AC also have JoB for a better return than BP at the same TC earning rate. Why play 8/5 BP when you could play 9/6 JoB (or 7/5 BP instead of 9/5 JoB)?

FWIW, 9/5 JoB tends to be my preferred game when I am chasing TCs at CET properties. It has a slightly lower EV at $10/TC than 9/6 at $25/TC, but at a much lower investment cost and thus much lower variance.

Interesting discussion. For 12,500 of coin in your theoretical loss is over twice at 7/5 bonus vs 8/5 but 2.5x TC. Taking variance out of the question there should be a magic number of bankroll to tell you which one you should play. Above a certain bankroll 7/5 below a certain number 8/5. I suck at math but i'm guessing that number is relatively low. Personally as much as I would hate to do it, if my goal was grinding tier I'd probably choose the 7/5. Especially if i could find a 7/5 with a progressive to offset some of the return difference.

Maybe I need to look harder in the AC Caesars properties for a better return at $10/tier. Bonus Poker is my preferred game, generally speaking. Potential for a little more juice on 4OAK without giving up the 2x on two-pair. But if there is a 9/5 JoB at $10/tier, I would play that in situations where I'm grinding out to a tier goal.

I feel pretty confident that there isn't anything 99%+ paying $10/tier.

In my Diamond Plus chasing days I would play 100 hand BP .05, $25 bets rack up points fast and having 100 hands keeps variance in check, the downside was chances are very very high you will lose, just not lose as much as you probably will with a higher variance.
