There’s 2 offers to use: $60 free play or $100 dining credit with stay. Which one is the better offer? That $100 can be split between multiple restaurants?
Depends on if you'd rather use your own money for food or gambling. Since the dining credit is more I'd personally go with that since $60 isn't a lot, and you'll end up spending that gambling on your own anyway. Generally the dining credit is applied to your hotel bill at check out. So you'd charge your meals to the room & the $100 credit will be applied.
For me it would be the free play. In Vegas I am almost always on a solo trip and I have plenty of free food all over the place anyway. I seldom pay for food in Vegas unless I splurge on a Starbucks.
I can't answer your second question without knowing who sent you the offer. Knowing the trends of complaints about things on this forum, I automatically assume that CET is the place unless otherwise specified. If you count on FP as part of your trip/stay bankroll (generally a bad idea), only take the FP offer if the dining credit must be used all in one shot. In all other instances, ignore the free play offer and take the dining credit offer.
Are you staying long enough to be sure you will use the dining credit, and are there enough open restaurants on property that suit your preferences? If yes and yes then take the dining credit.
Well, for me, it would depend on the amount of my gambling bankroll for that trip. $60 is NOT a lot of Free Play to me, but $100 in food is. If you're comfortable eating at fast food places the entire trip, take the FP. If you'd rather have a good meal, then take the food credit. That being said, I won $1000 on $60 FP on two of my last three trips.
I don't know which us better. Depends on value. I'd choose f&b. At least walk away with some food in my belly... probably would have paid to eat anyway. Freeplay to me is usualky just extra play, doesn't save me out of pocket, and rarely returns anywhere near face value. Even when Ive won, I've always given it back.
Here’s the offer for the food credit. I called the hotel and they said it was a 1 time use it or lose it for the $100 which makes it less appealing. I’m not sure if he understood what I was saying because he was making it sound like it was the diamond $100 and I tried to clarify a couple times that this was separate with a separate code. Might just go with the free play. Get per diem anyway
Use the $100 of food savings and add that $100 savings to your gambling budget. Boom better deal than the $60 fp. That's if you plan on spending $100 on food for your trip to begin with which I would assume yes because food cost racks up in Vegas even if it's food court stuff.
$100 dining credit is far better. The $60 free bet can most likely only be used on a 50-50 bet like the pass line or a blackjack hand. Since you only have a 50-50 shot at winning, a $60 free play credit is only really worth $30.
In my case, I will wager more than $60 in a trip, and will spend more then $100 on food (and realistically will spend more than $100 in one meal). Given that, it's pretty simple, $100 is more than $60. If that's not true of you, then figure out which gives more value: if you'll gamble more than $60, but will only spend $50 on food, then take the free play, or vice versa. If it's a case where the $100 dining credit would cause you to splurge on something you normally wouldn't, then it depends on what's important to you. For me, no question I'd take the $100 and splurge, but that becomes a very personal question. Dining experience is a very important part of a trip for me, but realize that is not true for everyone. If the numbers were even (say $100 free play or $100 dining credit) then it's a coin flip. I'd personally take the free play so I don't feel compelled to dine only within a specific resort group, but also realize that won't hold true for everyone.
You keep Freeplay if you win the bet, so $60 FP is worth the EV of the bet. Depending on the game, it's going to be in the neighborhood of $59. Food is going to be worth more as long as you can spend it (eg. say you had an infinite amount of RCs, you should never take the food). For me, I'd pretty happily take the food.
To me, $100 food is worth more than $60 freeplay. If you had equal offers of $100 food or $100 freeplay, I would still take the $100 food. And even though I have a ton of RCs, I would still take the $100 food. Anything tangible (and digestible!) is worth more to me than freeplay, which goes back to the casino anyway. --max
depends on exactly how the free play works and if you would normally spend that much on food in one meal just because the face value is for 100 dollars does not mean it's actually worth 100 cash to you
