Which of these activities generates a CET swipe? (gaming day)

One of my activities on my trip next week is renewing by BFFs 7* companion card. The issue is that it's on a day where I'm not staying at a CET property and didn't want to generate a gaming day.

I can't remember if they swipe my card when renewing a companion card.

My BFF is leaving before I check into a CET property.

Can anyone think of a way around this?

I ran into the SAME exact scenario last week while at AC Caesars. Not that's it's a big deal for me but would like to know also. I renewed my friend's 7* companion for him at Caesars but I was staying at Borgata and didn't play at all at Caesar's all weekend. When I went to TR desk, I didn't give them my player's card, even though I had it, as I was "trying" to avoid a potential gaming day. Instead, I just gave them my ID to look up my account and renew my friend's 7* companion. I would "assume" it's not a gaming day? Since they technically didn't swipe my card for anything or use any offers or benefits. But then again, making someone a 7* companion is considered a benefit being used I guess also?

I thought about asking my host at AC about this but didn't get a chance yet. I think there will be mixed answers until someone or their hosts can confirm. If there's no definite answer, I think providing your ID and not your player's card would be the best way around this (if in fact this method doesn't generate a gaming day).

Admittedly I'm using straight logic/common sense here but you're neither earning nor using a comp. It shouldn't count as a gaming day any more than the act of making a reservation should count as a gaming day.

I think we all use the term "swipe", but I am guessing some activities might still "trip" the magic ADT counter in the sky. You can check into a hotel without swiping your card, but your number is there and tripped. Maybe activating a companion card could trip it. No idea. That's a difficult one. If someone did this and NOTHING else, a host could tell you when your last visit was to answer the question.

BUT - I think hosts give answers that are not always accurate or exactly what you are looking for.

It will trigger a gaming day. They have to swipe to pull up your account, and in doing so, generates a trip.

OK, my BFF says he doesn't need the companion card just yet, so we've decided to skip for now. So now I'm under no obligation to gamble for the first two days. The two days at Aria are comped via myVegas.
