I was looking at the Luxor property map and it appears the West Tower is closer to the pool and a bit of a walk, which is fine.
The East Tower looks closer to Hotel Check-in and the walk way to Excal. Am I right ? Any difference in the tower rooms? I should mention my reservation is a Pyramid Queen on a 3 night comp July 2-5 YES in 2 sleeps!
I always ask for a complimentary upgrade and want to be specific with what I ask for. It's a solo trip too.
    Thanks!!
    Tim

I prefer the west tower. Yes it is closer to the pool from the elevators, while the east tower is closer to the traditional check in. To get to Excal or the casino, I always just went all the way down to the lobby level and walked from there. It was way faster, I felt, than taking the casino level from the elevator.

I've stayed in both Towers, the rooms are pretty much the same in both. kland assessment on the location is correct, and I also prefer the West Tower (pool, spa proximity)... I'd just ask to be put in the tower in a comparable room and see if that gets you in, they may want to charge for the upgrade though (assuming the pyramid room is the standard queen)...

West tower for us. The walk to the elevator bank is easier to navigate when hammered....

The West Tower has a much nicer elevator area and walk to it (next to the pool with lots of windows).

    Haha, husband TOTALLY had this!

He rarely drinks outside of Vegas, but he thinks he just turned 21 when in Vegas.

We started in the east tower, and someone had too much fun, and upon text messages, I had to come guide him back to the room, as he was lost.

He had less problems in the west tower, less twists and turns. The rooms were the same, the east tower halls just seemed longer and more twisty-turvy, but we were also at the end of the hallway.

We liked both though, and while we'd request west, we'd be fine with east.

Been there, done that. I might have even bought a Lux T-shirt. Although it would never hold up in a court of law.

tooooooooo funny. I'm leaving for the Airport in about 15 min. Hopefully I'll at LEAST get a renovated room.
    Thx again all!
