I'm a Vegas regular but need help with this one.

My parents who haven't been to Las Vegas in 15 years want to plan a summer vacation.

Which hotel would be best for them??? They are 65 and 70 respectively.

My father will play $500 to $2000 blackjack and my mother will play $1.00 to 5.00 slots.

    My first thoughts were

    Venetian/Palazzo
    Bellagio
    Wynn

Which property do you think would be best for them considering there age?

    Thank you again in advance.

    Mirage.
More centrally located and if they haven't been in 15 years they have more
options for checking out all of the changes at Linq, etc.

    Venetian/Palazzo.

Tons to do without walking outside or too far. Good for the level of play they will be doing.

Wynn/Encore and Aria would be good options as well. Bellagio has sort of lost some of it's luster recently, but I know people your parents age that still swear by it.

Palazzo or Wynn, would be my choice.

Think they have just refurbished all of Palazzo, too.

Dad loses 5 straight bets and is 2500-10,000$ down. I would,go,slow. I wouldn't ask the board but put it out to the various properties and see what is what. Take our advice and then use THAT upon checkout. This guy is a good mark for a host. He could kill them also.

Let us know what takes place.

I'm around that age and still go to the Bellagio. If they go to the pool, being sunset, Bellagio has the most shade and is more centrally located for different restaurants

Bellagio. Location on the Mid Strip, Next to Caesars Palace, Mirage, and City Center. Across from Paris and Planet Hollywood with their huge mall. A multitude of restauants at Bellagio, Caesars, Paris. Close to the LinQ entertainment center. The Tram at Bellagio takes you down to the South Strip.
Bellagio would be the perfect Hotel to use as a home base.

65-70 is old? Waddizzdis? I'm in that category and I'm in tippity-toppity condition. At that level of play they won't need to pay for a lake view. All 3 have excellent rooms. You can't go wrong with those choices, but Palazzo may be best if you are driving. Small casino and underground parking means fewest steps from the car to the room in most cases.

Palazzo. Sister property to Venetian. Palazzo's casino is smaller and easier to navigate than Venetian and the elevators put you right at the casino. All rooms have been renovated. Excellent, professional service.10 pools to choose from. Connected to Venetian and it's wealth of dining options. Easy access to the Wynn properties and Fashion Show Mall.

I find the Palazzo/Venetian complex very confusing and can get turned around in there. And if you want to get to the strip, that is another story.

As to getting room comped - maybe on the back end, but since they have not been there for years, probably not on the front end.

Not all 65/70 year olds are created equal. :) What are the parameters you are looking for? Is mobility an issue for either of them? Do they want a smaller property? Do they want to be centrally located to walk to other properties, or just one place they can spend their whole trip and find all the things they are looking for?

jeez, do you think i am old, I am 63. I am in good health, I run 8 miles daily, never miss a day. I eat healthy, don't drink, don't smoke. Not fair to categorize me.

More power to you, Cheetos. That's very impressive, at any age!

In fairness, he did say 'older couple', rather than 'old'.

    :)

Okay, nobody is saying 65/70 is "old" and decrepit. If the OP is talking about his/her parents, then I'm guessing that they are at least 20 years younger and then that age would qualify as technically "older".

Well, I'm 59 and go to the gym for 2 hour workouts 3x/wk. I don't plan on slowing down in the next 5-10 years. I'm in better shape than when I was 40. That being said, my husband has rheumatoid arthritis in his hips and knees with a lot of mobility issues. Very different aging.
I vote Venetian/Palazzo. The garage elevators bring you right up into the casino and hotel elevators aren't far from there. The property is outrageously over the top in design and such an eyeful to walk around.
Bellagio is just an upscale Mirage to me and the parking lot is a big hike.
Wynn is nice but not much past the casinos.
You didn't mention Mandarin Oriental, Vdara, or 4 Seasons @ Mandalay Bay...all very nice, too.
