I must have missed this thread's first go 'round also.

First trip ever was New Year's 2000. Stayed at a friends house. Didn't gamble. Mostly remember visiting MGM.

Then, our first few years just us, it was exclusively at LVH (then the Las Vegas Hilton) because of the Star Trek Experience. We did not gamble at all.

When the STE closed, we were on our last stay at LVH and came down to the strip to see what it was all about. CET was running a play $100 and get it back promo, so we each ran $100 through some $0.25 slots. When we got the $100 back in the mail, it came with offers for free rooms at IP, so we took them up on it.

Then we got married at Bellagio, so stayed there once.

Stayed at IP for the first several trips while we really got our feet wet gambling. Becoming more comfortable with it and upping our bets and bankroll.

Then more CET free room offers started rolling in. We stayed at Bally's once, Paris once, Caesars a few time, Harrah's once or twice, but basically made our home at Flamingo for the last several years.

Now we're planning to try Paris again in May since we normally stay in a GO Luxury with View on the south side of Flamingo so we can get a good view of the Bellagio fountains, but with the pool/dayclub/nightclub thing going on the roof next door, it seems we may need a new home.

Most of my stay of my 22 trips going 24 are either at the Wynn/Encore. Up next is Harrahs. The rest I only stayed at once. I may stay at the TI more since they canceled that Sirens show. Wanted to do the Aria more but I hate the long walk.

I visited and crashed at but never booked/stayed at the Cosmo, Mandarin Oriental, Palazzo, Bellagio and the Palms.

I first visited Las Vegas in the mid 1970s. Since then I've done LV at least once each year and multiple times many years. Last decade has been an average of 5-6 trips a year both business and pleasure. It may be easier just listing where I HAVEN'T stayed, but I think I can do a reasonably accurate list ...

    El Cortez (first one ever!)
    Stardust (all-time fave!)
Nevada Hotel (it was nice then)
    Riviera
Ferguson Motel (it was nice too back then)
    California
    Plaza
    Sahara (countless times, another fave)
    LV Hotel (nee' Hilton)
    Westward Ho
    Terribles
    Treasure Island
    Harrah's
    Imperial
    Flamingo
    Caesars
    Bally's
Wynn (blow on fingernails, wipe on blouse) :)
    Super 8 Ellis Island
    HI Express by Cannery
    Luxor
    Boomtown/Silverton
All three in Primm (do these count?)

Trip #1: Circus Circus. What a dump and the place was teeming with screaming children running everywhere. We got a "great" deal on the room through AAA and I didn't know anything about The Strip at the time. We ended up spending all our time at the South end of the Strip anyway, so whatever we saved on the room was spent on cab fare.

Trip #2: The Bellagio. Worlds of difference. Very, very luxurious. We ordered room service for breakfast and I had the best coffee I've ever had anywhere. The casino was very classy, if a little smoky for my taste. We caught "O", which was awesome.

Trip #3: The Vdara. My wife wanted a non-smoking hotel that was close enough to a decent casino, so we stayed at Vdara and gamed at The Aria next door. The Aria has probably the best casino I have played in. We caught "Zarkana", which was pretty good, but you could tell it was a former touring production and not a show designed specifically for LV.

Impressive list, Viva! :nworthy: Is it safe to assume you've made an effort to stay in as many places as possible?

Are V/P and Downtown Grand on your to do list?

    Thanks!

For most of my Vegas years, I stayed where ever I was comped. I started seeding future comp stays at different hotels in the 2008s-2009s and began to make it a quest to hit all Vegas casinos (perhaps Nevada :evillaugh) at that time.

I went from the 1-2 trips/year to 5-6 for a four year stretch (I'm back to 1-2/year). I tried hitting at least one new casino each trip. Since many of my trips are extended (7-14 days), it has been easy to hit 3-4 hotels during the 1-2 week trips. I've averaged just over two different casinos per trip, and my average trip length is just over 6 days.

Seven of the stays were limited to the fly-in night, just to knock it off the list (Golden Gate, Plaza, Silverton, Hooters, Casino Royale, Gold Spike and Fitzgeralds), but the rest were standard 2-5 night stays, mostly comped.

I will definitely try to hit the remaining casinos (and additional off-strip casinos down the road). Suncoast, Downtown Grand, JW Marriott (2-4 days) or The Quad / The D (1-2 days) are under consideration for the June trip.

EDC is in town during the June trip, and as a result, room rates are jacked up during the final weekend, so I am likely staying comp only for the final weekend. I'll hit V/P at some point but I really can't stand the smell in there.

The Stardust was probably my favorite. We played a lot at The Desert Inn, and I wished I stayed there at least once before they closed.

I like the rooms at The Cosmo, Wynn, MGM Grand and Caesars Palace among the higher tier casinos, Bally's, PHo and Treasure Island in the mid tier range, and The California and El Cortez Cabana Suites for downtown rooms.

Red Rock Resort, Green Valley Ranch and Palms are very nice off-strip properties, and outside of Vegas, I really liked Harrah's Lake Tahoe, for the location, rooms and the decent Video Poker they offer.
