We’re always on the earliest non-stop from Austin. Rental car center to Whole Foods is less than 5 minutes - we can pick up provisions for the trip and also grab some decent breakfast food. We have also been known to hit Southpoint or Red Rock buffets with a bogo coupon. Second stop is always Ronald’s Donuts for some old-school donut delights...

Depends on where I am staying but that's generally a food court opportunity.

Sometimes I'll stop at In N' Out Burgers or I'll hit the food court at the hotel (if they have one). Since I've been straying at the Orleans, they have a Fuddruckers and Sbarro's in their food court. If I want a real meal, I'll either do the buffet or one of the restaurant at the Orleans and pay with BConnected points.

    Usually In N Out Burger.

I may try Palms or Palace Station buffet this trip.

If you have a care, I recommend The Egg and I on Sahara or Peppermill on the Strip.

It is surprising no one eats at McCarran :D . Usually I wait to get to the hotel, unpack, and then go someplace good where I'm staying, but a few times I have been so hungry upon arrival that I just go to the nearest place by the gate at the airport. Forgot the name of the outlets, but remember pizza, remember hamburger, and all reasonably cheap. This is not a choice too delightful, but it gives me energy for the cab line, the cab driver, or finding the limo driver, energy for the ride, the conversation with the driver, if any, the check in line, the check in clerk. It would be so nice to just blink and find oneself in a room in Vegas, unpacked, and on the way to a delicious restaurant. No plane, no bags, no ride, no check-in.

Actually Jersey Mikes at McCarran is usually my last stop before flying home. Easy to take on the plane.

We head to Market St. Cafe at the Cal. I usually will order their steak. It's a cheap cut full of gristle and fat but for some reason it screams "I have arrived!!"

A cheap steak, in a cheap cafe in a laid back hotel/casino. Now it's off to the craps tables.....

We’re trying something different this November trip. We’ve wanted to go to the Oyster Bar at Palace Station but it was always packed so we’re heading there right after landing at 730am. Hopefully it will be wide open for three of us.

I head for the pizza window on the walkway between Bally's and Paris. Pretty good pizza and fast. I don't like to spend a lot of time eating while I'm in Vegas. I can eat at home.

2 Things - first, it depends on when you arrive and second, where you are staying. There is something all around, strip, downtown or off-strip, small or big appetite. I try and plan my days on what i will be doing, doesnt always go that way but it gives me an idea. I've tended to hit a buffet upon arrival as my flight is about 4 hrs but i have also eaten and made/packed my own stuff for the flight too.

Coming in for another one.....such a spoiled one i am
And the R&R continues right next door
