Just realized I will be in Vegas during the same weekend as When We Were Young festival. I have no intention of going, but was curious to know what the city is like during the weekend and especially once the days shows let out. I know its 2 full day shows, so Im not expecting any issues during the day, but what should I know about town when the show is done? Thats alot of people suddenly storming onto the strip and downtown. Is it best to just call it a day at that time? Or is it worth hanging out and watching the drunk shenanigans? Thanks for any intel.

Unless you hanging around immediately adjacent to the festival grounds, you probably won't even notice a difference in crowds. You may see a slightly different type of Vegas crowd, but its not that big a show. By vegas standards, the number of people it bring in wouldn't even qualify as a large convention.

Thats great! I was reading around 60,000 per day in past years, so I didnt know what to expect when they come rushing out at the end. Ive been during March Madness when the construction convention was going, so sounds like that was much worse, but that also was all day and not a flood of people.

That number sounds about right. And yeah, if you are close to the festival grounds, you will encounter some crowds. But otherwise, Vegas absorbs that additional number of visitors routinely

We were there one year at the same time as second weekend of When We Were Young. @Travel Fanatic is spot on.

I didn’t realize that WWWY had been extended to the second weekend. We had tickets for a show at RW and my husband insisted on driving and parking there. The parking at Wynn/Encore was completely filled and RW was nearly full. Apparently our show and the festival concluded about the same time. Parking deck at RW was a complete PITA to exit. Took us over an hour to exit. Other than that wouldn’t have known anything was going on further on down the Strip.

Yeah, you likely won't notice it. And if you do, it will be a small notice like, hey I bet they're here for that thing. There's always at least 1 major thing going on in Vegas for the weekend and unless you're right next to it, you won't notice it. I've been there for some huge concerts like When We Were Young, huge hockey and football games, etc. and never noticed it other than promos happening around it. I was there during National Finals Rodeo one year and the only reason I knew it was because I was staying at The Plaza and they were trying to give me free passes to some of the related CORE Arena events they were doing.

I’ve done Vegas twice now (accidentally) during EDC. Other than the occasional eyefuls of things that can’t be unseen, it was business as usual
You should elaborate so people can decide whether or not they want to see that during EDC week lol

I was there once during edc. Was at Walgreens and some girl walked in with a see through dress on with nothing underneath it. I was with my family and my young son pointed it out. I overheard security say…..technically she has clothes on nothing we can do.

The memorable ones was the gentleman wearing pink fuzzy chaps with a bare ass. A big gal with a bare midriff. I did appreciate the couple of gals sporting nothing but pasties for their tops.
Oh the memories. I still have my bra and tutu from edc is storage somewhere
