I've checked it out a few times and just can't figure out how to navigate it. The old site was very user friendly but I don't like the new one at all.

I know it's new and there is a learning curve but I agree that it did not impress me whatsoever.

I liked the old site way better.

^ existing discussion started last week.

It's horrible. Purple? Horrible. As I said in the other thread website design is so easy now. You don't have to have any coding experience. I'm in IT (but not web design) and I've done many sites for friends just using the free tools out there.

What makes this even more laughable is that they took YEARS to do this redesign. Lots of starts/stops and then FINALLY they unveil it and it looks like it's from the 90's.

Curtis has done a good job for many years with his newsletter but this new site makes LVA look amateurish, The old site wasn't much better but it was somewhat better.

The new site shows one thing for sure.... that the web designer's favorite color is purple.

I tried to "sign up" from SHOPLVA, and kept telling my the page was "protected".
I gave up after trying multiple times.

Tried it once, found it annoying and difficult, decided not to go back. However, I was really only using it for the "delete" thread on the free side, which is where I got most of my funny memes for Facebook.

What do you recommend if you just need to create a website with some photos and a few different pages?

Godaddy has cheap domain name registration and free Web building tools. You also need to pay for hosting. You don't have to host your site where you register your domain but it's easier to do it. There are others but for a simple site that's easy to build and cheap it works. You can also check out Wix or Weebly. They have some free hosting

It displayed my real name which got me upset. I immediately called the office and they deleted my post. I would like to post there but I'll wait until the site gets more thread. They only have 3 categories last time I checked, a Welcome section, LVA section, and Questions to staff.

You mean that they don't have any political threads anymore? I left because the site became more of a political one than a vegas one. I remember sometimes there were 80% to 90% political postings and not much on vegas. One day the first page on the forum didn't contain any vegas posts.

But without the political postings that place may die since all the vegas people moved elsewhere. Too bad, AC should have gotten rid of the political stuff years ago. But like others I just went to that site to go to the delete thread, I got a kick out of that. I hardly read any of the other threads, especially the political ones.

Too bad, too little, too late for that site. Wish that I downloaded some of the delete posts, some of them were real funny. Did they create a new "delete" thread? If so is there a way to look at that forum without having to sign on?

Spot on makikiboy. Anthony could have changed the game by not allowing political thread and the website could have become great again. The new site doesn't have the "delete" thread, nor is there a way to revive that thread. The new site only has 3 categories, a "welcome" thread, a LVA/gambling thread, and a questions to staff thread.
