I have a friend who adores El Cortez, he stops there every visit. He plays Keno a lot there and even he said it's tightened up.

I wonder if there will be some tightening up when the casinos open back up.

I hope there is at least one beancounter with the sense to realize that would be a terrible move.

Second the Vue bar, and I also enjoy 4Q, except when the bucket drummers are doing their Keith Moon impression. The Filament at Fremont is pretty good too--great beer selection.

I also hope they don't screw em down tight when they reopen.

I have a quick question. I am a somewhat noob VP player. I really like to play multiple hand machines. On my last trip to downtown last fall, I had a hard time finding any. Granted, I didn't turn over every rock and only looked casually. I certainly didn't see them where I stayed at The D.

If anyone can point me to any multiple hand machines downtown, or resources that list those, I'd appreciate the help. Thanks!

All this El Cortez talk is gonna get me there on my next trip. I was there last year for the first time in quite awhile. We were strolling around DT and as we walked past the Elco, my wife (JR) decided she wanted to go in for a massage. Of course my mind started calculating how much bar top time a massage would give me and I heartily agreed to pay for said massage. As Fate would have it, Elco had a cancellation and she was able to get in within 45 minutes. I headed to one of the VP bars and had a few beers and played some DDBP and Joker Poker. No idea what the pay tables were like but the service was great and the atmosphere was relaxing. I wasn't there long as the QQQQ was beckoning but I did split up the time fairly evenly between the two places. I lost at both bar tops, making the massage rather expensive in the long run. But as of right this second, I cannot get the smoky old Elco out of my melon and I am gonna get there next trip.

I feel like they are everywhere but I don't play everywhere so off the top of my head I can at least confirm that the bar at Downtown Grand has multi-hand games.

Don't forget that a lot of newer machines (relatively speaking) are multi-game machines where there may be a single hand game showing, but if you go into the "more games" menu there are often options for 3, 5, and 10 handed games.

I may be telling you something you already know but just to be sure since you say you are new to VP.

This would be better as a separate thread -- and it would be a great thread. I do not know for sure of any bartop multi-hand VP machines downtown (unless some of the newer ones, like at Binion's and El Cortez, feature multi-hand), but the D is devoid of them other than in the higher-limit area -- and the paytables are Strip-like. Your better bet would be to go next door to the Four Queens, where there is/was lots of multi-hand VP on the floor with palatable pay tables. I recommend doing exactly that, as long as we know (or can confirm) that the TLC properties have worked through their ransomware and network security issues from this past winter.

Another great resource to consult for finding VP inventory at casinos (though it does not reveal pay tables) is videopoker.com.

vpFREE2.com lists multihand games but only the ones with the better paytables that players have reported to them. I see some listed there that I have played myself at Downtown Grand and the three Boyd casinos. Example: https://www.vpfree2.com/casino/downtown-grand

Probably the best bet is Main Street Station with ten-play quarter 8/5 Bonus (with the Score With 4 scratchers for quads that bump up the EV by nearly half a percent) For penny and nickel 50-100 play, Four Queens has options in the 98.5 percent EV range along with its generous slot club :) More info here: https://www.vpfree2.com/casinos/by-region/las-vegas

Play a decent amount of VP, but not much at the bars. Just don't drink much while playing, so I figure to leave spots open for drinking players. When I do though, I'd say Boarshead would be my choice.

Good info here! Now that the Hard Rock’s closed, I need a new spot until Virgin opens. Looks like the D will suit me well.
