    Agree w/Nuke !!!!!

    Right on!

Sorry Nuke, it's just a sign of the times, some lower class servers, are taking the jobs.
Obviously they have not been trained correctly.

    To to Smug server set:
Drinks are part of the Hospitality of the casino, servers are to be at the leisure of the players,
    tipping or not!
The Players are DUMPING HUNDREDS TO
10's OF THOUSANDS OF DOLLARS IN THEIR CASINO!.

Bring them their DAM DRINKS It's your Job, Do it Already!
    :grrr:

The Players are the reason there is a Casino.

If you don't like the job as a cocktail server, do something ELSE!

This topic baffles me as everyone handles it differently and I never know if I am doing too much or too little. As a rule, every third or fourth win I'll tip the dealer the amount of one bet.(i.e. $10table=$10tip) If I am not winning, I will tip every 10hands or so(I don't keep track) and when I leave the table.

Whatever. The players are losing tens of thousands to the CASINO. Not to the waitress. Tip the damn girl. She's doing you a service. It's a phucking DOLLAR!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! This is not directed to Nuke.....just to the other peeps that say they won't tip every time.

You tipped $1 for the rounds when you were ordering 2 drinks except for the first round and advised on you typically tip $2 at the start and $1 every other round. You asked for an opinion on it, and it was essentially given, $1 drink is standard per round and per person, yes if the waitress gets the order wrong, then there is no problem in saying something to them and refusing the drink or asking them to get it right.

again you failed to read my 1st post.

i said that with this CW i tipped her $2 first round and $1 second round and the third round i opted against it since she couldn't get the drink right.

what part of that dont you understand ?

$3 for 2 beers and 2 coladas (that were left off to the side)

AND i failed to mention this was around 3am she didnt have much on her tray and put it in these terms ... the MGM derby game was EMPTY ... its never empty ... thats how slow the mgm was when we went.

I've always wondered what the cocktail waitresses have to do to be in the high limit rooms. They are usually not especially good looking or young! I've seen some players tip 100 bucks a drink, and I usually tip 25 dollars since I don't have anything smaller at the table and I feel cheap since I'm betting a lot a hand if I tip less...

Then again, I've seen also the high rollers that tip almost nothing....

at the Beau the CWs in the HL room are young and seriously smoking. every one of them. i don't mind tipping them $25. but at MGM it's been hit or miss. some are nice, but others, like you said, you just wonder how they got the HL gig. at the B they're usually pretty good looking. i think it's really only MGM where i've seen some of them and just really wondered.

It's probably a combination of seniority / rotations / quality of service. I'm sure if you asked some CW on the floor what type of scotch they had they'd say "Well, we have whiskey and burbon. Oh, you mean specifically? Well, we have grey goose".

On to the topic at hand. I think the major point of contention isn't whether you tip $1 or $2 or $20, but whether or not you can simply *not* tip if you're getting bad service.

I think if you go to a restaurant and the service is atrocious, you shouldn't tip (or tip a small amount), I think if your dealer is rude you shouldn't tip, I think if your taxi driver long-hauls you you shouldn't tip. But I think no matter what your CW gets that $1 (at a minimum) for the drink she brings you. THAT, I believe, is where the arguments on this thread come from.

I think the confusion was due to using the words "every other". You meant each time she came besides the first. Many of us took it to mean tipped, skipped a tip, tipped...

Thank you. That never occurred to me, and there were certainly no signs or indicators to let me know IF this was the case.

And yes, if it is a charity thing or youth fund raiser or something I'm apt to tip a lot. I get my car washed by the local kids whenever I see them set up in the parking lot at the nearby shopping center. They usually have signs up saying what group they're with and will, when I ask them, tell me specifically what they're raising money for. So, while the car wash is free and may just have a donation jar (I'll put in $5 as a bare minimum) if they tell me they're building a schoolhouse in Vietnam for orphans or something, I might throw in another $20.

Anyway, thanks for advising me of the situation. Next time I run into this I'll ask for clarification.
