My hosts have waltzed me and a friend past the lines and into the clubs numerous times. I've always done the $50 handshake with them. Working in the industry, I've been told that's the norm for two people.

At what point in the thread did i say "i am deserving of a $1000 tip because someone won a jackpot?"
    Nowhere.
    i said that a $20 tip on a $10k win is insulting.

I believe it was around the point where you told us he won $10,000 and then said, "Now i think that on any winning bet it's customary etiquette to tip out (from what i was told) aprox 10% of your score." $1,000 being 10% of $10,000.

surely he tipped on the food/drink service , what was your contribution to helping his $10k win, $20 may have been a bit tight but $250 sounds overkill

Yeah, I'll give you that, if all that was given on some comp drinks and meals was $20, then that is insulting. For me, I think I am liked and appreciated for the tips I would give per drink win or lose. If I want to spread a little more around in the event of a big win, then fine, and I do, but I chafe some at a 10% "standard".

So anyhoo, are we agreed on $50-$100 for the walk-in? After the host gets you to the door, who do you grease to get the primo table location? I suspect that is the lynchpin in the assembly, and a nightclub host has discretion over your location, but does the casino host?

This is with bottle service, correct? If so, then I'm not sure why you'd even bother with a casino host, and just deal with a nightclub host (who is the person I'd tip in this situation). If you're not doing bottle service, then I'm pretty sure you're not getting any table location whatsoever, primo or otherwise, at least at the larger clubs I think we're talking about here.

The Casino host has no pull o bottle/table service locations, that comes down to a VIP host at the club, usually the senior hosts ( guys who have been there longer/ have bigger clientele) have better sway over table locations, however depending on the night it really comes down to money spent: if you want a prime table for Aviccii on New Years at XS the table minimum for a front row seat is $7000+ (before tax and grat), you could however get the same table a week later for $1000 minimum spend with no table reservation costs. Nightclubs have been upping the pricing for everything because they know that people will pay it, i've seen a group of wealthy guys spend $25k to have prime locations at Rehab for Memorial Day Weekend, and almost get bumped for a football player who offered the same amount for the same location.

How can I become extremely stupid with too much money? Because, I'd be into that shit. Totally.

Well, I'm looking at spreading the $50 or $100 just to get in the club. If I intended to spend the night, then I'd look for a club host to locate a table for me, and I'd be prepared to spend much more.

For the most part, I'd just be interested in seeing what the vibe was inside. A break from the gambling, and the outside chance of finding that Mongolian Supermodel that wants to wrestle after dinner.

I don't think $100 is an unreasonable amount to spend to skip a potentially long line, and it should enhance the client/host relationship.

If you're willing to spend $100, there's no reason for you to be standing in line anywhere. If you are, then you're not talking to the right people. The relationship is nothing at that point -- you are willing to spend, you know what you want for your money. That's more than enough money to get it done, several different ways.
