I watched one of the lotion guys grab a girl by the arm and try to pull her in. I have to wonder, do they ever get beat up on?

Current busker situation? Well if you work hard and have the right costume, I think you can still make it. It's become more competitive and people are less generous, but the career is still there for you if you're willing to take it with gusto.

The "circle" restriction last from 3 pm to 1 am.....before or after I guess they are free to be where they want.

IANAL, but IIAC that is, technically, assault. :( I can't remember being actually touched, in Las Vegas that is, buy Lotion Ladies, timeshare dweebs, panhandlers, or whatever.

However, one time while on business in San Jose I stopped in a local mall to pick up a few things. On the way back to the car I suddenly felt this, uh, thing, around my shoulders. It kinda startled me. This guy who was selling some kind of relaxation massage thingy just walked up and put it on me. I let him know in no uncertain terms that it was not appreciated.

Yup, they have no right to grab you by the arm and try to pull you inside, after you have said no twice. Totally agree!

Yeah, them grabbing you could be considered assault, and anything from then on is self-defense.

Serious question? How much would be an appropriate tip should I request to rest my head (pretend to be sleeping) on the boob of the woman who wears pasties and take a selfie, is $5 enough? $10? $20?

$20 for a head-boob is way too much! If you must feed the buskers, dont do so directly. Most of them have tip jars. Don't hand them your money. Rest your head on said boob, grab one folded up $1 bill and place it in the tip jar.

They cant tell a folded up buck from a $20 unless they open up the jar to check. And by then you'll have your head resting on the big floppy tities of one of those "retired strippers dressed like a Nun" down the block!

$5 would be my initial thought. Personally, and this is just me, $1 seems low if you're actually putting your head on a boob. Of course I've never tipped a busker....

    If I was a busker I'd have to be a fully-clothed one.

I cut myself enough just shaving my face! :faint:

That was a fun article! I'm guessing that $1-$3 is probably fairly standard for these guys. I'd venture a guess and say that most people are probably tipping no more than a couple of bucks for a picture.

Time for the summer update! We just got back from a Monday-Friday trip, staying at the DTG. Boy was it hot - 105 or more every day. Taking the WAX from the airport to downtown on Monday afternoon, a costumed guy got on, obviously on his way to Fremont. I chatted with him a bit. He said competition for the spots downtown is fierce. Something like 600 people trying to sign up for the circles We didn't see him again during our stay.

Many of the old standby were there, but diaper guy was missing. Must be on vacation. Buckets are being beaten everywhere. It's a constant cacophony. The hot weather has brought out the "bare attire." I don't know if there's a new KISS group or if the usual guys have just gone nutsack for the summer, but the only KISS guys I saw were nutsack KISS. Boobs and butts are plentiful. Any way you like 'em, you can find 'em. Some are worthy, but of course most are painful to behold.

The new thing that has appeared en mass are the weavers. They are suddenly everywhere on the FSE, weaving the same stuff (mostly flowers) out of the same material (some sort of reed). Got to be trained and placed by the same "sponsor." Anyone know what (or who) is behind this? I've not seen these folks before.
