being in the city where it started, we have them all over lol

same here, its been out for months, only time there is any decent line in the drive-thru is lunch and dinner

    My opinion

popeyes has great chicken and sides always, their service is terrible, at least by me with the I deserve $15 an hour attitude, long waits and still screw the order up

I ate two of the chicken sandwiches, first was really good, some lettuce would go nice on it, 2nd one I ate and i felt like I was going to puke, but didnt. both from the same location

Chic-fil-A is always super fast no matter if the line is a mile long. nice staff and the chicken is good and consistent every time...

both are good, and taste different but service goes a long way

In the 80's here was a Popeye's in Times Square on 48th Street. I know they were very sanitary because there was a sign you could clearly se from the counter, "No Smoking or Spitting in Food Prep Area". I felt safe.

Sounds like we're from the same area because our Popeyes was the same. Had to wait forever. So I just stopped going. Though now they are closed. And that's probably not a bad thing.

One thing for sure, hopefully whoever is behind the marketing of this received a bonus, as they hit it out of the park. Riding by my local Popeye's this week, I noticed lines of cars at the drive-thru, which I have not seen before.

I tried it when it was first here, and it was a good sandwich, but overall I probably will not be back as I don't eat fast food often and have lots of other options that are an overall better experience. If wanting a fried chicken sandwich, there is a small DFW chain called Super Chix that is better sandwich than any of the fast food options (though I have not tried the Shake Shack option yet). For fast food (fast casual) my usual choice is a local rotisserie chicken chain called Cowboy Chicken.

We have most of the usual fast foods here and in neighboring towns, but "fast" for us is Mexican or Armenian/Middle Eastern. lol Someone needs to go fusion and give me a shawarma burrito with garlic sauce!

Edit: I do want to echo the service and attitude quality at Chick the few times I've stopped while bombing along the interstate.

Ah, Times Square in the 80s. No pesky Disney musicals or Walgreens to get in the way of what folks were actually looking for. Good times.

I love a good viral campaign like this! The value of free advertising that Popeye’s has received because the media is carrying its water is incalculable.

On a road trip to Hilton Head we made a couple stops at Saxby’s, it was really good.

No lines in Brooklyn. LeSandwich is no big deal. I prefer my local diner for grub.

all of the Popeyes are super slow. they seem to come and go too. I have seen several open and close in my home town. franchise issues maybe?
the fastest one I have ever visited was the one at the airport in Vegas.

I wish they'd open up an Olive Oyls for deep fried fish.

I like to hit up the Popeye’s in Terminal 1 at McCarran. Not all of us have a fine wine, Brie and assorted crackers and fruits for lunch. :poke:

I haven’t (soberly) eaten fried chicken in a very long time, so perhaps someone more knowledgeable can clarify this for me... why exactly is it a big deal that a chicken place is now offering sandwiches?

Conceivably, it’s the exact same chicken recipe as the rest of the chicken that they serve. Am I the only one failing to see how the addition of a bun is so earth-shattering that it makes people line up? I feel like I have to be missing something here.

Genuinely curious. I keep seeing stuff about it on social media and now that there’s an active discussion thread here, I figure this might be a good opportunity to learn.
