So before anyone says 'Cosmo' yes, I'd love to stay there right now too but I haven't gotten rates from the host we know. So I'd just be going off of the online posted rates. Any CET property I've logged in with my TR account and included my wife's TR Number to get the best rate. We don't have enough play at any MLife properties, so I'm not even looking there.

We will be there June 11 to June 15

Flamingo - Comped - Not really interested in staying there as we didn't have a great experience there in summer of 2015
Harrahs - Comped - Meh, Doesn't really interest me or the wife.
Bally's - Comped - Again, same as Harrahs
Planet Hollywood - Ultra Hip Fountain View - $655.20 (including resort fees and taxes)
Paris - Red Room - High Floor - $396.31 (including resort fees and taxes)
Ceasars - Anything that's worth while is more expensive than Cosmo.
Cosmo - Website Rate - Terrace Studio Fountainview - $1,138.52 (Including Taxes and Fees) -- Again, this is before talking to our host. I have an email in to her but haven't heard back yet.

The wife and I stayed at Planet Hollywood this past New Years and had one of the Ultra Hip Fountainview Rooms. We liked it a lot. We aren't opposed to staying there again for our trip in June, but was curious if anybody had any suggestions. If all things were equal we would want to stay at Cosmo, of course. We were really used to staying at the Palms for very cheap, if not free.

This trip is a celebration trip for friends of ours retirement from teaching. There will be a group of us going out maybe 20 maybe 70, who knows. Everybody is doing their own thing. Some are staying at Monte Carlo (got a great deal with Spirit and MC), others at Wynncore, while most don't know where they are staying yet.

Any thoughts or ideas would be greatly appreciated.

    Thanks!

It makes no sense to me to stay at a hotel that cost any money when I can stay for free. Of the 3 comp I like Ballys. Our go to hotel.
In the heat of the summer it is nice to have the walk through to Paris. Jubilee rooms are nice.

Our 1st choice is Bally's if you can get a Jubilee, fountain view room.....they are very nice & for free.....no brainer. You will be pretty close to those staying at MC.

Are you a pool person or no? That would factor into my decision.

I agree that the pool should factor in if you use it. Otherwise I'd also take a free room, even though those Cosmo rooms are very nice. You can still play and eat anywhere you want.

You said Bally's is same as Harrah's (Meh). But dont under estimate Bally's, its actually nicer than Harrahs in my opinion and for free is even better.
But, unlike the others, Im willing to pay for higher end hotels even if I have a comped offer elsewhere. The room for me is very important as I like to feel like a hotel is luxurious compared to my daily living situation. Therefore I like the Paris and Cosmo options best!

Unless the difference is low money and there is a big difference in hotel, free is my choice.

I don't get it...are we allowed to answer "Cosmo"? It's in the title of the thread but then you essentially say, "don't say, 'Cosmo'" right off the bat. o_O

If you want free, I'll agree with the others - Bally's. Otherwise, Cosmo. Can't even fathom paying more for CP than Cosmo.:nono:

Most people would read it and just go "Cosmo" without reading further. So that was the logic there. Sorry for the confusion.

Yes we are pool people. If it's not a good pool, then it's a no go for us.

If you're older than 50, choose Harrahs or Ballys...
And Jesus Christmas are rooms really that expensive?!? damn, glad I gamble and have a fighting chance...

Unless you guys are going to spend a lot of time in the room, take the free room at Bally's (Jubilee or better) and just have your group meet in the middle, AKA spend a lot of your time on property at the Cosmo. It's a 5 minute cab ride or 15 minute walk away for almost your entire group.

Over a grand at the Cosmo when Bally's is presumably just resort fees is money much better spent eating/drinking/gambling.

    IMO.

If you're paying $655 at PH, and Cosmo is $1200, what about something in the middle on cost? Aria and Cosmo are our home bases, and we love both. I'd pick Cosmo first, but $1200 is steep. You can get Aria for not much more than PH (maybe $200 more with resort fees?) And its leaps and bounds better. The standard room at Aria is so nice that, on our last trip, we were offered to pay for an upgrade to a suite, for $75 a night, and we declined... because their basic room is so nice it wasn't worth it to us. (And we've stayed in a corner suite at Aria, Terrace Suite at Cosmo, and Terrace one bedroom at Comso.)

I'd say either go with totally comped, or splurge for Aria or Cosmo. PH for $655 would just make me mad. It's a good hotel, but if I am paying that much, I'd rather kick in a little more for a stellar room (Aria) and it still is way less than the top price room you're looking at.

I'd personally probably go for comped, but if you ARE going to spend extra money, make it worth it. And have a great trip!

Now that you have added another data point (pool is important) - that changes up the mix a bit.
And, you said a large group is coming out - will they be at pool with you?

AND - can the past bad experience at Flamingo be overcome? What was that all about? You say you had a great time on the next visit.

Since the pool is important, my pick would be either Cosmo or Ceasar's off your list. I hated the pool at Planet Hollywood.

Also, like Multifarious5 suggested, check out Aria or Mandalay Bay. Using the Royal Carribean deal found here, I'm seeing $707 (with $200 resort credit) for Aria and $491 (with $150 resort credit) for Mandalay Bay. Solid resorts with nice rooms, good pool scene, and you won't break the bank.

Free at Bally's. I'm a Mandalay Bay (Delano) home base but have stayed Bally's long ago a couple times. I also like sun at the pool (thus how I started at MB)..Bally's pool although not the greatest DOES HAVE SUN ALL DAY. Paris beside, sun doesn't reach the pool till a bit later like 11????....I like to sun in the morning till about noon, then go in. Summer gets hot (God I'm old)...And others mentioned you'd be real close to Monte Carlo. (speaking of MC, last time I stayed there the sun didn't hit the pool till like 1pm...not for me)..

Rooms were dirty, had to move rooms due to the filth and the fact that somebody had been smoking in our room and we had a non smoking room. We kept getting accosted every time we got on or off the elevator by the timeshare people. It got really annoying. The pool was a highlight, but that was it. Since everybody is doing their own thing as long as we are center strip it's fine.

The price for Cosmo is the rate on the website. I hadn't heard back from our host. But that's not a bad thought for Aria. I just threw it out that we didn't have a lot of MLife play
