A size called "large" but is actually a medium, iced coffee...um excuse me sorry, cold brew (I got told "we don't sell iced coffee, only cold brew") is over $8. A trenta (larger than venti) iced coffee at Starbucks at Cosmo is $3 cheaper.

It's $0.79 at 7-11 and you can use the ice machine to get a few cubes for free.

I pulled into the parking lot of the 7-Eleven near the Neon Museum and didn't even get out of the car. Talk about sketchy. I don't even scare easily, but I passed.

The first time I tried staying downtown, I had a comp at Plaza. To say that it was nasty was to minimize the word. There were door to door hookers pounding on room doors. The bathrooms were broken. The beds had mattresses in plastic bags.

I fled in the middle of the night to return to my clean, luxurious room at Imperial Palace.

I can only speak for myself and some of my friends who, we all hope to go to Vegas and stay at Circa early next summer.

But it seems like the place I have been waiting for. Going to Vegas for over 10 years and over 10 trips, I only stayed at mid level strip places. A few years back, I started splitting trips, staying at Plaza or Golden Nugget downtown. I didn’t like Plaza and never got shit from comps from there. Golden Nugget I have been back to, with somewhat decent comps. I love the rush tower rooms, and like the property decently enough.

I like the short walks downtown, the cheaper yet still good food options, the ability to buy tall boy Budweiser’s cheap at the stores and drink them vs paying big money at a bar on the strip when your not gambling. It’s just a lil more of my scene.

Circa I think it gonna really bring it together. I love sports, so the gigantic sportsbook appeals to me. I prefer a nice room with a view, so some of the older downtown places do not appeal to me room rise. The pool looks awesome. 21+ appeals to me. The only thing that it is missing for me is a poker room. Downtown in general could use a real proper room, so hopefully they add one.

So I’m looking fwd to the experience. Hopefully the room rates are not insane. I have played a lil at D before, but my offers have never been anything worth noting.

Agreed I’m really looking forward to staying at Circa. The sportsbook and Circa swim alone would be enough for me to book a trip. My only hold up is my lack of play history and the admittedly high room rates. It’s tough to stomach nearly $500 some event nights when Aria/Wynn are half that.

You do realize Circa price point is on par with Wynn Plazzo and other big boys on the strip.. From restaurants to pool to drinks and rooms Circa is right there or more expensive. To each their own.. Just don’t want you to be disappointed.

Yep, to each their own. I'm sure he can see the prices.

This may be elsewhere but they have a scrolling screen with information below the sports screens and above the ticket takers with various facts or observations. One was for an app you could use (sorry it was quick) to listen to the muted screens. That was pretty cool and would come into play when your team was playing on one of the “little” screens and the house had opted for the narration of a different event.
Except you might go “That’s bullshit!!!” about some random announcer’s comment when the game broadcast with the sound was in commercial or something and people would think you  were weird; unless you’d already paid 200$ for the seat and were eating :feedme:the 43$ sandwiches.....then don’t worry about it; they already knew. :poke:

I was watching some YouTube walkthru videos and noticed how much they have going on at once and thinking "well I hope theres a way to listen to the one you want in your seat" and then also thinking they probably arent giving out any audio devices during the plague, so this really makes a lit of sense, plus it's cheap because it makes people provide their own headphones etc without looking like they are cutting corners.

I can see in this thread that many want to keep DT cheap and trashy. Not sure why having both nice and crap to choose from is a bad thing. It's like if you stay at the Circa you are a bad or stupid person. Don't get it.

Or I've just been reading this thread. I don't eat cornflakes. If you don't read some of the replies that have people bent over this nice, new hotel/casino that happens to be DT then you are reading something different then me.

I've been reading it, and laughing at how bent over you seem to be at the observations others have made about the cost :wink2:

I'll be in there helping them pay for it, with my low stakes gambling, and high stakes eating habits. Well, as soon as I'm allowed back in the country.

As for cornflakes, I'm sure you know that it's just a figure of speech :)

I don’t think most want to go back to the 9 dollar Vegas Club and Plaza room rates. I see and feel a little uneasiness about the downtown value being chipped away on not only this website but countless others.

Fremont has typically marketed to value seeking tourist. Imagine the sticker shock of a 50 dollar deli meal for one, or 20k to reserve a table of 4 at the sports book, 189-499 room rates.. To brush that off and say people are to cheap and want Fremont to become cheap and trashy again is a little heavy handed.

The idea of charging 5* strip prices on Fremont is a new concept, maybe it will work maybe it won’t. The math is almost 100% against it working. Dwindling new visitors to downtown, a customer base that on average spends almost 22% less then average person on the strip during a 4 night stay.. Paints a scary picture.. The market isn’t there.. Maybe Circa has a different market sample..

I for one worry about the cascading effect. If Circa can’t hold hotel price point.. What’s the difference between Circa and the Nugget or Nugget vs The D and so on and so on.. Slippery slope..

I hope Circa makes it.. Fremont has no other choice. If Circa fails or doesn’t live up to price point hype all hotels on Fremont will suffer..

But the other places on the cheap are not going anywhere and are still there. Choices are never a bad thing.
