I tried looking around but could only find
    "Current" odds.
Do you know the VEGAS pre-season odds ?
    Got to be 50: 1 range ?
They always short NY team odds -- so .....tell me it was only 35 : 1 ?
    Thanks
**** I never would have bought a future on it. *****

Off the top of my head I don't think it was in the 35-50 range. Do remember looking at baseball future's at The Rio in february. I want to say 19-1 but don't hold me to it

Baseball is weird, plenty of teams that win 84-85 games go all the way. KC--STL- in recent years. Ever since they got burned with Baltimore Ravens at 250-1 the casinos have shaved the futures odds quite a bit

Before the Yankees beat the Twins to get into the playoffs, they were 9-1 to win the World Series.
    Go Yanks!

Moot point. Could have been a million to 1 because they won't win the world series in 2017. Or can you win something for being 3rd or 4th place?

Futures odds are generally horrible bets, nowhere near fair. They know who is betting on these lines. They aren't getting set for serious bettors to look at all 30 teams and go, here's the best value! They are there for suckers to come to put $20-$100 on their favorite team. The expected hold on these bets well exceeds basic single game bets.

The most popular teams often have the worst lines for this reason.

Which year was that? The Rams 200-1 season in 1999 is the longest shot to ever win the SB (that I am aware of). And Vegas learned its lesson and started shrinking the odds for pre-season long shots after that
