For dinner on December 30, 2023, we had roasted chicken, Brussels with dates and pancetta, and orzo with feta.

For the last dinner of 2023, we're having shrimp and grits.

We’re having an assorted party-tray from Port of Subs for dinner tonight! Yeah… that’s how we roll!

Still eating here in 2023. Chile-spiced shrimp with thyme and garlic, cheddar-cheese grits, bacon and scallion on top, IMG_0502.jpeg and a white sauce.

    Football lunch today ...

We have a load of roasted chicken, so I'm shredding some of it and mixing with a gorgonzola-yogurt sauce and a vinaigrette of Champagne vinegar and shallot. Put that on baguettes with Bibb lettuce, bacon, sliced radishes and jalapeño, and roasting up some potato chips.

Tonight it's steak, baked potatoes with sour cream, and veggies. Starting 2024 off right! Happy New Year, all!

I’m putting an 8# prime rib in the oven in a few minutes. My dad was the best cook and he made this for Christmas and his birthday. I lost him in April, I hope he's watching down on me and tells me when it's a perfect medium rare.:feedme: 20240101_143104.jpg

edited: I did a pretty good job, the thicker end was closer to medium rare and the smaller end more medium, which is fine, I prefer medium, hubs medium rare. I did make some blackeyed peas. The only blackeyed peas I like have Will I Am in it ;). But, the one year I didn’t eat them, my vehicle got broken into my first day back at work in the new year so now I always have some.

@Richard Alpert you’re a man after my own heart, I don’t see ANY pretzels in your mix! I like pretzels but not in my mix. I’m glad I’m going back to work tomorrow, since mid December I’ve made 4 batches of Chex mix for hubby and I. I’m happy to be out of cereal!

    Happy birthday to me!

First time visiting this location in Chinatown Boston. Clams with Black Bean Sauce made my day. Blew my socks off. Also the Eight Delight Chow Fun was also tasty. Happy New Year!

Upside down chicken paillard. Or - sauteed chicken on salad greens, with the rest of the couscous I had on hand, parmesan & croutons, & Martha's Dijon vinaigrette. PXL_20240102_235703100~2.jpg

Plenty of leftover steak, so it's steak and arugula salad, with heirloom tom, red onion and avocado, and a blue cheese vinaigrette.
