Saturday night I made venison pirashki (Persian version of a Russian pirozhki or polish pierogi). Super amazing. Then bagels for Sunday breakfast. Forgot to get Sunday dinner photo - shepherd's pie. PXL_20220109_002630599.MP.jpg PXL_20220109_134133206.jpg

Got back from Las Vegas and couldn't find "hot" Fried Chicken that wasn't breast meat. I DON'T LIKE CHICKEN BREAST MEAT!!!

Substitute "Chicken Breast Meat" for Spam in the below clip. I DO like Spam, however.

Anyway, back to my original post. So, I had Chicken Wings in the freezer and had Korean-style chicken wings
    upload_2022-1-16_2-21-35.png
The sauce was made with gochujang, korean pepper powder, garlic, soy sauce, vinegar, and sugar.

    My son even ate them!!!!

Today I will go out and buy leg quarters and make "hot" Fried chicken!

I made drunken buck chili yesterday in honor of the snow/ice storm, but forgot pics. As usual. Turned out delicious though!!! I'll have leftovers for lunch tomorrow so I'll try to get a pic ;-)

Hit up the Asian market today and made some KFC (Korean fried chicken) and garlic chili noodles:

The noodles. Really spicy. A bit too much for my wife and daughter. I liked them but can definitely tone it down a bit.

I improvised a Moroccan chicken tagine in my new pressure cooker device, but what I thought was ras al hanout must have been something else, and it just tasted a bit off. Moving on....

ETA it was shawarma seasoning mix. Something I generally like a lot, but didn't mesh well with the tomato and fruit based ingredients.

Leftovers night -- tenderloin, dill crema and spuds. We have an heirloom tom at full ripe so will toss that with the asparagus and some arugula, preserved lemon.

Lunch today is the last piece of the cheesy sourdough loaf and a bowl of drunken buck chili. Yum yum yum. PXL_20220119_184731098~2.jpg

Trying some new dishes as I can. Tonight’s excitement a potato galette

    A7F27795-4490-4C57-852A-288A11B0B1F2.jpeg

With roast pork loin and balsamic glazed asparagus.

    6F27CE8F-11D2-44AA-9B75-E6CB764EA21F.jpeg

The potatoes were the star if this show. The bottom was crispy like potato chips, the inside soft like a baked potato, and the top nice and roasted. Definitely making this again.

Dill crema sauce for the pork: fresh dill, sour cream, chicken stock, salt, garlic?

Yep. And butter. Mexican crema or sour cream. Have some arrowroot handy to thicken. And if you pan roast thought tenderloins don't give off much deglaze what you can. The grill treatment obviously obviates that.

Had an overwhelming urge for pretzels. And since I’m working from home right now and my commute is 0, decided what the hell let’s use that time (plus a bit, my normal commute is actually only 15 minutes. But still it sounded like good justification)
