I normally have been using a soft Coach weekender tote which is a nice enough size to take my iPad, extra chargers, extra insulin etc. I'm heading to a wedding in April & want to again take my 35mm camera as I will be taking after wedding photos for them. Thinking it's time to look at something a bit more durable for this.

I am looking for something along the lines of a a scaled down 'under-seat' carry on to keep it as compact as possible. I know I read an article or links on smaller size ones for under-seat designed to use on Spirit etc. but no idea where I spotted it.

So looking for your suggestions. Thanks!

I check, so my carry-on is a backpack or shoulder case -- my portable office. It goes in the overhead. The seat well is for my legs.

I can't imagine lessening the 3 square inches they give me for my feet. I take a roll-on for the overhead...all that stuff and clothes for a week fit in it for me.

This is very similar to what I use but not exact. The top compartment has extra padding and an
inside space to stash my iPad. There are a tons of little compartments and spaces inside and it squeezes under nicely.

Mine is similar to the one BarelyHangingOn has pictured above.
Mossy Oak brand from a little store in the neighboring town called Wal-mart.

But mine is camouflage, so I have no the idea where the heck it is right now! :faint:

Well I'm 4'11", so the footwell space is not QUITE as necessary for me as it is for you guys lol!!!! I definitely need something either structurally more 'hard' (really not that keen on a hard sided case) - the extra padding in the backpack pic sounds a bit appealing.

We check bags and between the 2 of us take one backpack for snacks, electronics, his blanket (hubby gets cold on the plane a lot) and I have my handbag. Occasionally I'll bring my camera bag too but not usually to Vegas.

Jeez, I have books, iPhone, recharger, my ball caps, ear buds, a sandwich, water, a print out of my itinerary and show tickets. Probably more if I think about it.

It's all stashed in an old gym type bag that I got for free somewhere.

I found a great old lady purse a few years back. It's black faux leather and is jut big enough to fit everything i need. I usually take a book, my tablet, camera and snax. We do a carry on each and then my purse. You should see the sucker when I go home with souvenirs...LOL

I usually fly with something like this. I keep my notebook or tablet in it, plus magazines and my other stuff (neck pillow, mp3 player, etc.).

Before liftoff I will keep the backpack under the seat in front of me but after the plane takes off I will put my backpack behind my legs so I can stretch my legs into the seat well. Plus it is easier for me to get my stuff, I can just reach down instead of bending over to get it under the seat in front of me.

Thanks for the tip about relocating the carry-on from under the seat to behind your legs. I had never thought of this and will give it a try in April.

Sometimes during landing I will just put my jacket over my backpack and leave it under my legs so the FA doesn't see. Guess it would be a problem if we had an emergency landing. It is also easy after we land to grab it and lift it up to leave.

This looks like what I carry on the plane except mine has a small zippered pocket on the front that I keep my player cards in. It easily hold two ipads and all my wife's jewelry for the different days. I only use it for trips that involve air travel and after 5 years it still looks brand new. I like that the carry handle is made of heavy duty cable and it is well padded for Ipad protection.

Looks like a very close match to mine, got it from Costco, and there is a mesh strapping band so it will slide right over my rolling luggage handles.

This arrived at my doorstep a few years back. No idea why (a promotion I didn't know about? gift from a host? no clue) But it has become my go to carry on.
