We take the same flight every trip, arriving around 10:15. We have checked bags, so get to the hotel at around 11:00. Five out of the last six trips our room has been ready. We check in, unpack, hit lunch and it’s Vegas, baby!

If our room is not ready we leave our bags with the bell desk and go to lunch (11:15 is 1:15 for us, so lunch is welcomed)-I don’t think we’ve ever finished lunch without being notified to come and get our keys at our convenience.

That morning arrival gives us what seems like an extra day. Same reason we leave in the afternoon.

My latest Vegas routine is catching the first nonstop out of MSY, usually between 5:30 and 6:30 am. That puts me in Vegas around 7:30 am local time. I get my rental and head to GVR for a breakfast. I wish there was a 4 am flight. Love seeing Vegas come alive and me being there to experience it.

In my other Vegas trips years ago, I loved to go to work, fly to Vegas, and enjoy being in Vegas after working in the office.

I adjust better to the 3hr time change if I get there in the morning. I like 9am flights out that land at 10. Just in time to grab brunch after landing, and MAYBE get free early check-in.

All things being equal I prefer to book one of the last night flights in to tack on one more night to the trip. It's easy for me since I just have an hour and a half in the air. Getting in around 10p allows you to miss the big check-in lines and get settled in so you can start the first full day on a more or less normal (for Vegas) schedule.

PM. Flying 2 time zones west means that my body clock gets off. If I land in the evening, I can sleep in a bit, have my day here at home, fly out, get to the hotel, get settled, do something small and get to bed by 11p or 12 midnight local (1-2a body time). This helps me stage my body for the next few days where I basically turn the clock upside down and spin it like a roulette wheel.

Of course, this trip coming up in a month :)wiggle:!!) I'm wheels up at 0953a. Which means it's going to be a long day. Try to sleep on the plane, I guess.

I want to get there early as possible to take full advantage of a vacation day. SWA used to get me there by 7:30 am but now it’s later in the afternoon. So I waste half the day waiting around for my flight.

Late morning or early afternoon. I don't like getting in at night. More delays and I don't like feeling that tiredness from travel coupled with being behind while everyone is amped up at night. The quieter morning casino helps me adjust

We always hop on a 2 hour direct flight, so my favorite flight lands late afternoon ..3 or 4 pm.

This gives a leisurely morning, gorgonzola waffle fries and bloody Marys at the airport.. arriving by 4-5...relaxing and light food upon arrival...then go-time on play by 6-7 pm!

Caveat: We do long trips, 6-11 days. If I did a 3 day trip? I would want my fanny on the first flight out ..

I prefer arriving in the morning. Only problem is the room probably will not be ready. I like to have the room ready so we can unload the luggage then go out.

I'm willing to pay for early check-in.

Most of my past trips I arrive early afternoon or late evening. This is due because of my work schedule. I will retire soon so it won't be a problem any more.

My flight schedule is generally dictated by when I can catch direct flights on SWA from/to MKE. Usually early morning departure from MKE, late morning return flights from LAS. Suites me just fine.

I used to like EARLY AM arrivals and LATE PM departures.
Those extra no room hours would KILL my gambling budget!
Plus I'd be super exhausted on Day 1

But now I prefer mid-day arrival and mid-day departure.
The tickets are not that much more expensive.

I don't have to get up at dark o'clock ungodly early.
All the restaurants and shops are open in the airport.
    I don't have to bell-desk anything
No awkward "I don't have a room" loitering.

Midnight is awesome, but I agree that anytime is a perfect time to get to Vegas!

Arriving anytime before noon (Vegas Time) is the best.

I've always done early morning, but I kind of like the idea of flying out after a day of work and seeing that neon on the descent....:woohoo:

Leaving STL in the early morning works for me, then I can pick up my rental car at mid morning, then either have breakfast or hit casinos that I will not be staying at to show some activity and keep the mail (and possibly offers) coming. Eventually I'll go to wherever I'm staying and see if I can check in or stash my bag and play until check in is available. In October I have an unusual (for me) trip planned, six days total. I have never stayed downtown in all my many trips to LAS, so the first two nights are at the Four Queens, second two at Aquarius in Laughlin, and the last two nights are still TBD. I can get everything together in about 30 minutes, so moving between hotels is not very time consuming or difficult for me.

My preferred arrival time is early afternoon around 2PM which of course is not always possible. After enduring the tedious process of getting off the airplane, retrieving my luggage, taking the shuttle to the rental car place to pick up my rental car and driving to the hotel; by the time I arrive at the hotel it's right around check-in time so after I get settled into my room, the first thing I like to do is go down to the pool area, sit in the hot tub and drink a beer or two.

Since I'm coming from the Dallas area and have a long flight, I want to maximize my Vegas time. So I always take the first flight in the morning, leaving at 7 am. I get to Vegas at 8 am, eat some breakfast and hit the tables!

When I lived in California, I would take the late Friday Southwest flight out of Burbank, since I could go more often.
