Excalibur and Flamingo. Excalibur served its purpose for a trip when we were not in the room much at all, but I most likely wouldn't stay there again. Flamingo, we were put in a nasty room with no hot water in the shower, then awakened at 7 a.m. with construction noise on the room directly above us. We bailed on a 3-night stay after one night and said never again.

I guess I'm part of the "Manor Rooms...been there, done that, no need to do it again" club. :)

The linq. My room had a brick wall for a view. I disliked the casino. The blackjack rules sucked. My phone couldn't get a signal in the casino so I couldn't find my friends.

Mirage. Dirty room, tiniest bathroom I have ever seen, pool was a zoo, surly staff, no drink service for two days so I went across the road to play at Harrahs. Cannot think of one redeeming feature of the place.

Anything south of Cosmopolitan / Planet Hollywood. Rarely venture that far, and definitely would not want to stay that far away from places I enjoy on the Strip, at least through South Point which I like visiting.

North of this demarcation line, Flamingo. Stayed there once, outside of drunken low stakes poker, there is not a damn thing I like about this property, and that includes Margaritaville. I would rather step on a pop-top than stay there again.

Linq - Until they really actually solve the elevator issue.

Westgate - They backed off on the timeshare terrorists, so I considered it again, until I heard the timeshare dweebs are back again.

Well, to be fair, even the bottom tier resort hotels in LV are decent.

There are quite a few that I only consider if they are zero resort fee comps ....and I couldn't get a decent rate anywhere else.
(weekends, holidays or high demand dates.)

There are a few I'm not fond of. (for various reasons)
Strat is too far off the beaten path.

And we note that you only say that you've stayed there....you didn't say you wouldn't stay there again!

Caesar's. I've only stayed in Augustus and Octavius Towers and while both are lovely - they are too far from the "action." Also, I'm not fond of the casino, which is weird as I have had my highest winnings to date there.

MGM Grand. I can understand why it would appeal to someone who's relatively new to Vegas, to take in the magnitude of the place, and how easy it is to be immersed in the casino environment no matter how far you walk. But between not caring for that lengthy walk, everything on the property being crazy expensive, and ESPECIALLY the inconvenient rideshare pickup location (you have to walk through a fucking tunnel to get an Uber/Lyft!), I'd have to be hard-up for alternative accommodation to stay there ever again. Funny, I love the simple layout of the West Wing room, which everyone seems to hate. But I don't love it enough for me to persuade me to stay at the MGM Grand again.

Bonus for off-strip: Golden Nugget. After getting put into five different rooms in a 24 hour period because one had an unbearable level of noise, two had bath faucets that only created a dribble and not enough pressure for a shower, and the fourth had peeling paint all over the bathtub's surface, I do not exaggerate when I say I'd stay at the Longhorn again before staying at the Golden Nugget again. That's on top of other problems like the bell service damaging my luggage and being given a "runaround" response by management, and my allergy instructions on room service outright ignored. I can understand one or two screwups, but that magnitude of problems created an irreversibly bad impression for me.

Places i have stayed before it would be Aria for sure. So far back, not a single place to eat, my room was dirty( could write my name in the dust that was on the desk, plenty of hair on the bed cover, had to call to have it changed, the annoying room key check security guard every time.

One place we would be reluctant to return to is Palms because of its lack of insulation between rooms and unwillingness to either intervene in the fighting in the next room or assign us to a different room. We also felt somewhat uneasy about the hooker pickup we witnessed in an elevator at Flamingo, as well as a soicitation I got ON MY FLOOR at Orleans from two women who probably rolled drunks as a side line. I don't mind being approached in the casino in front of witnesses, or on the street, but alone on a floor or in an elevator creeps me out.

There are numerous places we would never consider.

After a 2+ week kayak trip on the Grand Canyon, my wife got us a room at Circus Circus. She had the kids in tow and wanted me to know what a deal she got on the room. Anyway, It WAS wonderful to see the family, even there. We made the best of it and the kids had a blast but I don't ever have to do that again, thank goodness. I think Charles said it best. I still need to hit their steakhouse though.

Easily The Plaza. We stayed for our last trip there. Was actually looking forward to it since I have never stayed there and the reviews here were fair enough. I moved after a few nights, thank goodness. Was placed in 3 different rooms before we 'settled' in. Plus, the whole hotel smelled like sewer. Never again!!!!

Astute catch Dave. I am not above staying ANYWHERE and in my life I have stayed at some colourful places. I think the worst place I ALMOST stayed in was in Calgary. Most hotels were booked up and I found a place that was suspect but I thought I'd give it a go. This was back in the day before you could book a place on your phone. Again, it was also when I was a young man and of more limited means.

Pulled up to this slightly sketchy joint, left the girlfriend in the car and went to check in. I was back out a few minutes later and said "I will pay for a more expensive place". She asks why? I inform her that if you want to rent a room and get a TV remote, you had to leave a cash deposit for said TV remote with the front desk. I have never even HEARD of that but we were not staying at a place where that was a thing. Yikes!

Gaggles sure didn't always get comped rooms in Vegas and I have never forgotten my roots!

Since I am here, honourary mention to The Frontier! I actually CHOSE to stay there many times in my life in the Atrium rooms which were much better than the standard rooms. Although you still had to use the duct taped elevators to get to all of them. I kid you not. On time I checked in and their was a hole in the elevator door. Like, how does that happen? We were in it and on the way to our room. I could have put my hand though the hole and lost it forever as it was still operating with a hole in the metal door! No Health and Safety violation there right? Anyways, it was just a little bit later. Someone literally dcut taped a hunk of cardboard over the hole. Welcome to The Frontier!!!

I do miss Margarita's though. That place had great Mexican food.
