After my first two trips to Vegas, I finally decided to sit down and watch this one day a couple months back. It was cool to see the places I had been to. I was definitely glad that I had been to the Mirage, although my visit there was brief. The Wayne Newton stuff was funny I thought, but I didn't think the movie as a whole was all that hilarious. Still, it was interesting to watch.

Speaking of Wayne Newton, does anyone know what theater it was where he was performing in the movie? Maybe there is/was a theater like this at The Mirage, but I swear this theater looks identical to what is now known as the David Copperfield theater at MGM Grand. And I thought I saw the MGM Grand logo on a trash can or something as they were standing outside the theater. I've only seen it once--maybe I'm mixing things up. I wasn't able to find a definitive answer when I looked it up online.

I'm so doing this on my next trip! Do they still have Keno at The Mirage like they do in the movie? I didn't see it, but wasn't really paying attention and it was a short trip.

You are correct, his home base for most of the 90's was MGM.

I think you meant MGM, the Keno scene was filmed at MGM. if you look in the background as they are walking thru to to play Keno, there's a Marquee advertising the fabled Lions Share slot machine.

I love the smell of old school casinos. That never changes.

    Vegas hotels front desk....

"Uh-huh. Now in order to get to your rooms, you're going to have to go this way through the casino, veer to the left. Take a sharp right at the first giant palm tree. You'll see a group of blackjack tables. Not baccarat, not craps, blackjack. Keep going, then wind around to your left. If you get to the pool, you've gone too far, back up and take another right. You'll see a bank of elevators. Those aren't your elevators, stay away from them. But keep going, you'll see another bank of elevators, the gold elevators, those are yours. Take them up to the tenth floor, take a right at the end of the hall and you'll find your room. Any questions?"

Seeing the scene with Seigfried and Roy brings back memories when we saw the show before the mauling. We sat in the pit close to where the Griswalds were. So close you could smell the animals on stage!

The part where they are in a super dive casino playing a bunch of games that don’t exist in a regular casino... I laugh because now they do offer ‘War’ in almost every casino... with the way people are willing to play bad games today I think pretty soon we may see “rock, paper, scissors”... or maybe even “pick a number between 1 and 10” lol :goofy:

We went to see Seigfried and Roy because of this movie. I'm glad we did, I still have the ticket stubs.

It's funny, because my last trip was one I just could NOT get excited about. When I got there, though, it was just as incredible as always. I think that lack of pre-game excitement actually helped this time.

    What hasn't changed?
(Me) There's a Clark Griswold on "full tilt" just under the surface.

    The best damn DAM tour.

The multiple elevator banks.... haha.... I hate that. I think some hotels in Disney World do that, too.

Don't tell my wife I agree with this.

The best thing about watching this movie is that it means I'm less than 24 hours from being in Vegas!

I do the same thing! Have them saved in my phone. I use this when I feel like I need to step away from the other games we're playing and mix it up a little.

Is that the actual winning numbers or the ones the Griswolds played?
