I like what you are thinking! They are connected together anyway. The only question I would have with the Encore brand, what is it an encore to? Wynn built Wynn and his "encore" was Encore. Can Encore be Encore without a starting point? Can you have a concert filled with only Encores, is an Encore an Encore without a show/event/thing preceding it?

And how can we have Jumbo Shrimp? Don't they cancel each other out? Now you got me started!

Could be an Encore to Bellagio, Mirage and Treasure Island...lol. Either way, history will always tell the tale of what really happened.

I was thinking today that it’s a little ironic that SW always used to say the only way to win in a casino is to own one and he had no problem taking all the money from people who couldn’t control a bad habit. Well look who’s on the wrong side of a bad habit he couldn’t control now.

Yea he has a ton of money but if I had to guess, guys like him need more than just the money. He needs that next empire and to be in control and that’s not going to happen again. At least not a hotel with a casino.

Not condoning his behavior one bit. But still... as time passes, it will be a sad ending on so many levels (not just personally for him) for a person who you have to admit, was a visionary for Las Vegas.

But look at Bugsy... he started it all and was killed by his own mob before he ever got to see Vegas be Vegas.

I think if they change the name in LV, the better play would be to go with Le Reve since it has some brand id on it's own because of the show. That name evokes more Fantasy than Encore as well.

It could be an Encore to the old Desert Inn...

My mob informant told me it was Virginia Hill's Brother Chick that killed Bugsy. I guess Bugsy slapped her around just one too many times, and old Chick (who never liked him) put an end to it.

Interesting note in this story. For anybody following this thread, I've mentioned this a couple of times and felt that the actions the last few months (stock sales and the dropping of long time law suits against Okada and Eliane) have been setting this up.

"Wynn Resorts finds itself in a maelstrom at the moment. The only imaginable way Wynn stays on the side of Wynn Las Vegas is if Steve Wynn’s ex-wife, Elaine Wynn, takes the reins and there’s a purge of the company’s board.

Rumors inside Wynn Resorts abound that this scenario is possible if not probable. Elaine Wynn has a 9.26% stake in the company."

Update from yesterday from the Twitter-verse: the wall shown on the Frontier site now has the Wynn name, which is interesting in a couple of respects:

    1) Even thought the company's name hasn't been changed yet, the fact that Wynn's name still being put on "new" stuff (even as minor as a wall) when rebranding of the Boston project and possibly Vegas is being discusses is curious

    2) putting the wall on site might indicate this project might happen sooner rather than later, which was alluded to by Steve before all hell broke loose (and Maddox has kind of indicated too, although he has flipped flopped between whether Paradise or Wynn West is the priority)

With Wynn West walls being tested... What about Paradise Park? Does anyone have pictures of the golf course demolition, is this project still happening? I havent heard anything about it since January 25th.

7drake, I posted a picture in the Paradise Park thread from late February and it didn't seem a lot different from the pictures from late January, as activity still relegated to the southern part of the golf course. CEO Maddox has suggested expansion of convention facilities still likely to happen, but the rest of the project seems to be up in the air.

Dean Martin, I've wondered the same thing about SW. The whole situation, albeit brought on by his own behavior, sucks. Does Elaine still have the largest amount of shares in the company? Best case for me is that she takes over and maybe Steve somehow still retains some design influence from the outside.

And now according to the news yesterday, Elaine has dropped all of her law suits against Steve and Kim Martin. No money was paid by to anybody as a stipulation for dropping any of the 6 year long law suits by SW or EW. Either they're all throwing in the towel or IMO something's brewing... EW has been nothing but a pinnacle of the community in Las Vegas. She'd be a shoe in for gaming licenses and CEO and no doubt do some overdue house cleaning on the BOD.

On social media (so take with a giant grain of sale) I saw a rumor they were busy clearing the barriers for a sale.
