The properties will go on. The man will not.

They're going to sell to Caesars.

I don't see how these allegations are going to turn away people who visit Wynn properties. In Vegas no less.

I don't think the Chinese are going take sodomizing the help very lightly in Macau. A bad history there.
Plus Wynn and the Chinese Gov't not exactly in sweet relationship already.

And I believe Gaming licenses are up for renewal

I think the stock has a lot farther to fall yet.

My guess is that big vacant lot stays vacant a lot longer than planned.

If found guilty would they keep the name?

Cannot imagine there being a 'Weinstein' hotel keeping the name. Very unfortunate.

    Agree.

And isn't it his ex-wife who's he's going through a bad divorce with right now making those claims? Those types of claims can usually be overcame without much work. If more people line up though that would be bad for him & the Wynn properties potentially.

Than again I still see Trump's building standing & doing business despite all his "I love Mexicans", "Grab them by the pussy" remarks & getting peed on by Russian hookers + banging porn stars & other random nonsense so in Vegas he might do MORE business who knows lol.

Has anyone been put outta business, either a Vegas show headliner or a business guy, due to a sex scandal in Vegas? Can't think of anyone off the top of my head, but maybe there are some out there I'm forgetting.

Wall Street Journal spoke to something like 150 people for the story. Somehow I doubt it's going to fizzle out on the grounds that she was trying to smear him.

Maybe the board can resurrect the "La Reve" name the Wynn was originally going to be called.

    Interesting idea.

I have no idea how much the convention business contributes to Wynn's bottom line. But I can't imagine that anyone - in the near term, at least - is going to consider having their convention, or corporate retreat, or whatever at Wynn. The optics are just too bad.

I have a feeling that the vacation traveler will have a fairly short memory, though. But will it matter? Can the properties maintain the little things that make them special without Wynn at the helm? He might be a creep (if not worse), but his vision (poor choice of words, I know) and attention to detail are unmatched.

Expect the Alon project to sit. Expect the waterpark to chug along. Expect Steve to get kicked upstairs to chairman emeritus or out altogether. I wonder if a strong succession plan is in place - that may cause even more instability on Wall Street if there's not.

Well the first change will be the removal of the Wynn name. Then, he'll be paid off and kicked to the curb.

He abused 150 people? Or 150 saw him do it or knew about it 1st hand.

I gotta go read that story.

150 sources for the WSJ story, reporting on dozens of victims.

Nope! He's toast! "Wynn" will soon be a four-letter word in that company! (Wait! It already is.)

It's a good question. I remember last year there was the magician at the Tropicana who got busted for child porn whose show was cancelled. That's the only one I can think of off the top of my head. Other than the Tailhook scandal, but that wasn't specifically a Vegas headliner or business guy, so probably not applicable here.

OOPS... Editing to add - There were a couple of celebrity chefs that had their restaurants close in Vegas over harassment allegations too. Forgot about those.

I'm not sure what will happen with Wynn/Encore. I expect the Alon project to be slowed down for now. I guess it depends on how this shakes out. If there's no effect to the corporate bottom line, there may not be any changes. If there is a backlash or they see people leaving the property, it could go a couple different ways. Steve could be ousted from the board (ie, bought out) and the name could change. But there's a chance that absolutely nothing will happen other than Steve just going underground until the story blows over and then things will go on.
