Have they reached China yet? They have been digging in that area for over a month.

It has been a lot more than a month. I have been watching (lurking) this camera for many months and I cannot tell if they are making progress or not. They have dug up and filled in the same hole I don’t know how many times. I am sure it all makes sense to them. I hope it is done by the time we get there! :)
I do know that there is a lot of road improvements going on in and around that area. This was probably the best time to do it.

I just looked this morning. All of the gating that you had to walk through to enter and exit Fremont is gone, at least on the Walgreens side.

How long is LVB going to be torn up?? Doesn't look like anything has changed in the last month!
Thanks for the later correction - I knew it was 4th, but somehow, didn't manage to type that in!

I read that it supposed to go on until spring of 2023. Earth Cam is actually pointed to 4th st which I imagine is on the same construction schedule.
Check the article in today’s (5/15/2021) Las Vegas Sun.

Las Vegas Boulevard is in the middle of a multi-year reconstruction project. I suspect the construction on 4th is related utility construction.

Looks like whatever utility work they needed to do is finished. Now they are putting in new bollards.

This is finally done. If you go to the FS Earthcam archives for today you will see that they took out the last concrete blocks this morning. Look at the 5-6 am hour. At about the 48 minute mark, the bollards pop up right out of the sidewalk. They appear to be electrically operated to allow vehicles in/out.

Nice catch! That sure was pretty cool to see in action! That will allow emergency vehicles to get through and closer to where they may be needed.

There are still some orange traffic dividers in the street. But it is nice to see the concrete blocks gone! I wonder what else they are doing on the rest of the street.

Are they ever going to get the cam up and running again?

Curious decision. Every time I've seen movable bollards put up, they inevitably break within a few months and are just left in the "down" position.

It works. just clicked on it. BTW the buses bus stops are now by that wallgreens on the same side of the street to go uptown. It moved from where it was before to there.
