What do you alway pack in your suitcase, that some might consider strange?

Can't think of anything I'd bring esp for Vegas but I have quite a few things I try to remember to pack (well, they're on my standard packing list, so if they're not packed, I'm the only one to blame ;-) I pack a microfiber hair towel (use one at home every day, really like to travel with one). Flashlight I always have in my purse, for travel I pack a headlamp too. I have a flat pack of duct tape that comes on some trips, as well as travel TP (no core, plastic carrying case). Corkscrew/bottle opener (with wine foil "cutter" removed so I can bring it carry-on). I have a flat drain cover and bring it on some trips (the trips where I expect I'll be doing some laundry in my room). Some really good magnets if I'm on a cruise (for more hanging storage space - most cruise ships have metal walls) I have various binder clips - those are good for lots of things, keeping curtains closed, money clips for my husband (though he prefers rubber bands), even paperwork ;-) Empty water bottle (I fill after security, use it at night in hotels because I spill)

I have tried a couple of the apps, but I like my little table top one. It's not that big, 6x2", and fits in that little pocket in the back of my suitcase. https://amzn.to/2NkgUZU

Band Aids, at least five of them. When you need one you need it now.

    Styptic Pencil.

After an episode with one of those tiny pimples on the thin skin on the end of your nose that ended up using an entire box of kleenex and looked like a bathroom scene from CSI, it was a no brainer.......... I made sure I flushed ALL of the kleenex before I left the room. Otherwise there is no way that housekeeping wouldn't have reported it to security lol.

A 16oz plastic tumbler from home, a kuerig knock off, my pillows, a can coozie, dry coffee creamer and k cups, and a swiss army knife. Along with a blutooth speaker.

This trip, I'm tossing in a roll of Packing Tape, as my second "bag that flies free" will be a Box Fan, and it will return home with me and I'll need it to tape the box back.

Well, I always pack a full medical kit - I didn't think that was unusual enough for this thread ;-) It's been decimated after last trip (2 weeks, in-laws got sick and ran out of meds, husband danced without socks for hours on NYE and ended up with blisters - we used things we've NEVER used in 20 yrs of travel ;-)

What I pack for US travel when I know I can access a drug store is different than what I pack when I'll be in a developing country and/or far from CVS ;-) Climate and specifics of each trip can add or subtract items - the wicking bandana, the DEET.

Where my Type A personality manifests is in my packing list - I keep a standard one and update it for each trip (in Word) and for the past few years, I've started doing ppts with my wardrobe packing list as well, and for some of those trips, I'll do a snapshot of what I actually wore each day, to help with future trips/planning. Packing list also includes the "to do" right before leaving - so we can cross things off as we do them and not forget the charger or the breakfast or holding the mail, etc.

OH and nylon shopping bags! I have a few that cost 1E or 1L - I buy when I travel - and they're great for any kind of shopping, they're lightweight and I can keep one or two in my purse just in case.

Shoe horn. Used this one since I was 10 y/o. I’d hate to lose it so it goes in my carry on bag.

I always pack a battery-operated fan. (Plus extra batteries) Even in winter, this girl is always hot. I have both of them below. [IMG]

I can't believe I am telling this story. Long ago and far away (actually the 80's) but on a trip home from Vegas. I had rushed packing in the morning for home and after landing when the bag came up the ramp and dropped onto the baggage carousel, my ummm yeah "full-size electric toothbrush" that was packed in the soft-sided lid pocket had switched on full power high............ BZZZZZZZzzzzzzzzzzz. LOL OMG. Was such a cheap bag, you could almost see it was a Jewish 'electric toothbrush' hahaha Too dang true.

Yeah, laughing... life's realizations just hit me hard on one thread. From packing 'electric toothbrushes' back in the day to now packing fans. ha
