Chuck congratulations on the HP and ballsy roulette hit. I guess when it’s rolling you just ride the wave. Video would not play though.

Sure let's try over the weekend.

Sorry for disappearing, everybody, it took me a few days to recover from July 4 and some other things went off-schedule.

Gambool has been good, way ahead of budget. Am tied up for a couple more days, will play catch-up on updates on Sat.

Sorry that I was late, but glad I managed to make it down to say hi to everyone. I'll allow an hour for driving down the strip next year, and not 30 minutes. I was thrown out by not getting in my room at Palazzo until 5pm, which impeded everything from there.

Hope the rest of your trip is a lucky one, and hopefully see you next summer,. Chuck :)

Hope that's fixed, I'm about to post an update that will include it again. It's a private vs. unlisted setting or something, or who knows.

    OK update of sorts...

First, Cosmo hotel and casino operations.

I was bummed about the remodel of Cosmo and skipped it in January because of that. I loved the old decor and artsy theme. You do have to be comfortable with the place you stay. But other than that, the operations are just as good as ever. I was supposed to move to Luxor on Tuesday but felt like shit from overdoing it on July 4 and knew I wasn't going to want to pack up 80 lbs of shit and move.

I emailed my host, but of course it was her weekend, Murphy's Law, so I get an immediate autoreply like a goddamn professional host should do (which lets me know what I need to do). No way I'm calling her, I respect days off. I crawl into the HL room at 7:30 on Sunday morning, the host on duty, Tom Mageros, gets on the line with reservations and has me hooked up in 5 mins to extend for 4 nights in the same room.

I'm a nobody. I walk in, and I'm taken care of in 5 mins, which is less time than it takes to buy a Coke at other places. I actually LOVED the fact that my host didn't interrupt her weekend, sent me an autoreply and someone else stepped right in. @Cosmopolitan_SlotVP your people are awesome.

The staff at Clique was great too, for the M&G, on virtually no notice. This no doubt has something/everything to do with @Texaschameleon who, I don't really know exactly what the hell she did, but it worked and shows you only need 1 TC to be Diamond.

    Second: The Handpays at Cosmo

4 handpays, two on Cleo II at $5/spin just outside HL (video below), one on my nemesis Double Diamond in the HL room at $10/spin (no pic but it had to have been a variation on 7-O-7), and one on Triple Diamond at $6/spin just outside HL. The first three were, I dunno, kind of ordinary, the last one was a real cliffhanger.

I hadn't really thought out the volatility of the Triple Diamond vs Double Diamond. The paytables look similar but TD is much more volatile. This machine had been good to me the day before when I was playing $3/spin. The second time, I hit an extended cold streak, so as one does, I doubled the denom, cause sometimes that works, like when slapping yourself.

Started with $2,450 buy-in, got my brains beat out. I had an appointment, so I finally set a limit on either time or credits left, whichever came first. $200 was the credits limit. With $367 and 5 mins left, and about $2,100 in the hole, BAM, got most of it back.

Cleo handpay 1 (Youtube keeps taking this down, I thought it was because I had posted it earlier, but now that one is down too. Must be music in the background, Junior's Farm or some shit, or who fuckin' knows. Did I mention I hate tech? Welcome to the AI, enjoy your flight, Pauly comes on, we're all gonna die):

    Cleo handpay 2:

    Triple Diamond handpay:

Cosmo has this wheel spin promo going on which was kinda fun and painless to get done. 5,000 slot points (not insubstantial, but doable because your tier multipliers count), go to the desk spin the wheel, the freeplay got instantly added. No fuss, no muss.

I think I sound like a Cosmo pimp at this point, but I don't give a shit, it was a great stay. I think the One Bedroom layout still sucks. I only ever stayed in this room type once before - in the winter. The bedroom area is about 100 SF, next to the sliders to the terrace, and has a pocket door for privacy, which is nice. But the thermostat is in the bedroom, while the big AC output is in the other ~500 SF and pointed in the opposite direction. So set the thermostat to 68. If you close the pocket door to the bedroom, it never gets below 72 in the bedroom and the AC keeps cranking and it's 62 in the living room.

Cosmo full results disclosure. 7% loss on slots at an average around $5/spin and an average denom of I have no idea. Quarters on Cleo and $1 on reels, pretty much. I'm not saying it wasn't volatile. Take out one handpay, it changes a lot. But those handpays aren't imaginary, either. I don't think. Ask my friend Sofia Vergara, who was with me for all 4, that's right.

Also ran into @pleasemum and hubs a couple of times in that early morning interregnum when the bros and woo girls go wherever they go and the real freaks come out. :D

    Third: Aerosmith

You must go. I give the setlist only a B because I'm an asshole. Doesn't matter. The production and performance was unbelievable. I have seen Aerosmith at their best and worst and I couldn't even process this performance until the next day. Tyler only pulled back on maybe one note in the entire night and he was hitting notes and screaming shit that made me glad I bailed out of my self-dare a year so with @ardee and @Richard Alpert to do Aerosmith karaoke tomorrow night, it would have been $5k down the fuckin' drain.

I had tix for the the 7th and 9th and went Tuesday the 9th; I wasn't there to take pics, and this isn't shot well, but just to give you a feel, here's where they come out (honestly, you can pretty much skip the 30 minute pre-pre intro):

    On to PH tomorrow...

Thanks Chuck for your recap of Cosmo. I too am a new nobody there but have found the service to be top notch.

After seeing the one bedroom, staying in a studio, then being treated to the angle suite, I am in love with the angle terrace suite and hope to get to stay there in the near future. That huge terrace was perfect for viewing fireworks at eye level.

I took quite a beating on my last trip where I couldn't even get a bonus on Anything. Was going the same direction this time until after the fabulous meet and greet ( Chuck you certainly pulled out all the stops with the huge array of bling ) Everyone joined in and made for a festive night.

Enjoyed dinner with the girls then right back at it where I hit a major and hand pay on Dragon link which topped off the night.

Thanks again for a memorable night.

I could be mistaken, but I think there may be only one Angle room on each floor. As far as I know, they don't advertise them. They're like certain suites at Palazzo that are a function of the architecture and exist in a crook, and I don't mean Sheldon.

I don't know your exact play level, but I would angle for a "Terrace Suite." Or try to find out how far away you are from it, play wise.

Thanks Chuck. I usually am offered and have stayed in the terrace studio fountain view and enjoyed those but loved the angle suite.

Well, I'd love one right now.

I have to go from naked to a parka when I go from the bedroom to the bathroom.

But enough with the HVAC jokes..

That angle suite looked perfect. I haven't stayed there at all, but I was looking at options and even from the floor plan pic of the 1br my very first thought was I don't like where the bed is, and I hadnt even considered the AC situation. I did think it might get hot and or loud there being right next to the balcony though. Vindicating to hear I wasn't wrong. I think the layout of that angle suite was perfect, but like Chuck said, they're nowhere to be found on the web site to the general 2035 point having public at any price and being as how they utilize that notch in the building I don't see how there could possibly be more than one per floor. Glad I got to see that!

Not saying not to a free fountain view suite to kick off Thanksgiving!
Presidential Suite for the holiday woohoo!
