VIP Whale
I know this is old, but better late than never, plus I haven't posted a TR in a while, so here goes:
9/1 - 9/5 stayed at IP/Harrahs.
Monday 9/1
I love Soutwest for being on time and having no baggage delays (unlike Continental). Arrived about 9:35 am, retrieved my luggage and was surprised how cool it was outside compared to a few weeks ago when temps were topping 100 degrees. Hopped on a shuttle and we were off to IP not five minutes later.
Tried to check in, but they didn't have my room ready. I asked for a pool view, so may have been able to get a room otherwise. Dropped off my luggage at the bell desk then proceeded to lose at VP.
Went upstairs to the Teahouse to grab a salad since I hadn't really eaten anything all day. Ordered the chef salad and used my own reduced fat dressing that I brought with me since I'm trying to stay as close to being on my diet as possible while in Vegas without totally blowing it. Service was pretty slow as usual, but the food was good and reasonably priced. I was really thirsty too so I downed three or four glasses of water to lessen the blow my liver was about to receive.
I decided I wanted to pick up some booze from the liquor store at the Orleans so I headed to Bill's to catch the shuttle to the O. I saw the ebay slots and decided to give it a shot. Big mistake. Bye-bye $40. No play at all. Went outside and caught the shuttle just as it was about to leave.
Arrived at the Orleans and wanted to put some play on my card since Labor Day is usually double points or more. I spotted a Goldfish machine that was calling out to me. I put in $20 and played a good two hours or more on that same $20. Ended up cashing out eighteen cents and 6 AMF's (adios m**$^$ fu****s) ahead. Woooohoooo! The day was off to a decent, or at least more fun start.
Got to the liquor store and bought a bottle of booze and some sodas for mixers. I didn't really feel like lugging around more than one bottle since wasn't sure when I'd be returning to my hotel or when I'd be able to check in.
Returned to Bill's via the shuttle. I had a match play and decided to use it at the first BJ table I found. Sat down and asked if they were still accepting those MP's and sure enough, it was still good. Got dealt BJ on my first hand while using MP. Yay. Fun table, great dealers, and excellent cocktail service enabled me to play for a couple hours. I ended up coloring up for about $100 profit.
Headed back to IP and was able to get checked in. Went upstairs to check out my room and fixed myself a few drinks while waiting for my luggage. Was assigned luv tub room on the third floor overlooking the pool. After my luggage arrived, I just relaxed for a while on the balcony while enjoying another drink. A few minutes later I received a text from Murph asking where I was. Told her I was at IP & asked where she was. Turned out she was also at IP, so I headed downstairs to meet her.
We walked around a bit and asked her if she minded if we headed up to Toby Keith's so I could get a Shiner Bock. Tasted soooo good. After that we headed to Bellagio where she was meeting up with her sisters a little while later. In the meantime we wandered around the conservatory taking pictures and enjoying the aroma.
We split ways when it was time for her to meet her sisters for dinner. I headed to Caesar's making a pit stop first at the Spanish Steps bar to get a drink. I tried the watermelon one this time...sooo yummy and refreshing. I wish I had ordered the large, but I was afraid it would be too sweet.
I played VP for a while and made a rather nice donation. I really wanted to play BJ, but couldn't find a seat at a table with less than a $50 minimum, so I moved on to slots. Found a Frog Prince machine that was in a generous mood. By generous, I mean that it gave me lots of play and bonus rounds. Didn't win big, but Ended up cashing out up about $60.
By that time I was getting hungry again, so I went in search of food. Walked through the Forum Shops for a while and when I walked past Spago, the smell drew me in and I had to eat there. I sat at the bar and had some fruity drink that the hot bartender recommended. After all the booze it turned out I wasn't as hungry as I thought I was. I only ordered the tomato bisque and crab cakes. The bisque was excellent and the crab cakes had too much dill for my tastes, but of course it didn't stop me from eating them. *LOL*
Caught the deuce downtown to meet up with Murph. We played and lost on WOF at MSS. Murph tried her hand at three card and did pretty well. After watching I gave it a shot, and lost my buy in rather quickly. After that we headed to Binion's for some slots. Again Murph was holding her own and doing quite nicely. No luck for me unfortunately. By this time I'm really dragging from being up at 3 am central time so I decide to call it a night and catch the deuce back to the strip.
9/2 - Tuesday
Most of the day consisted of drinking by the pool and playing BJ with Elvis and Roy at the Dealertainer pit. I somehow managed to spain my ankle at the pool so it was really swollen and hurt like a mofo, so I didn't feel like doing much that night. Went up to the room and watched a movie and took a little nap.
After my little break and a nice hot shower I headed back downstairs for more BJ. Elvis finally took all my money, so I switched to slots. Didn't have any luck at IP so I headed to O'Sheas for more BJ. Did pretty well and ended the night up about $150.
Stopped at Whisky Run for some more booze. Fixed a nice big drink before sinking into a nice bubble bath in the luv tub.

This was all that got written up before Hurricane Ike, then all sorts of stuff happened and work got insanely crazy; so I never got to finish this TR. I do know that there were huge amounts of alcohol consumed and many hours of blackjack played at Bill's and Harrah's. I don't really remember many chronicological details, but here's the rest as best I can remember.

9/3 - Wednesday
More time spent relaxing and drinking by the pool and watching hot guys.
Later that night Baby Cougar picked me up and we met Vegas Tonya at Blue Martini. I don't know why they say that the blue martini is their worst drink, it was my favorite! lol
9/4 - Thursday
Moved to Harrah's for my last night. The room was a lot smaller, but the bed was more comfortable. The only thing I hate about Harrah's rooms is that the A/C units shut off automatically 5 minutes after leaving the room. It took forever for the room to cool back down.
Mostly played slots right outside the piano bar, then moved to blackjack. The table I sat down at was great. The dealers were awesome and the other players were great. At one point, every other round of drinks was a shot of Patron. Needless to say, this is when the incident with the pit boss occurred. Everyone at the table was participating, but for some reason the pit boss singled me out and *almost* tossed me out. We were just calling him over for stupid shit and purposely saying stuff to embarrass him, moaning before calling his name, etc. I guess it's one of those stupid, had to be there, only in Vegas moments!
9/5 - Friday
I decided to walk to Ellis Island for breakfast. The only reason I remember this is because this was the day that hooker got killed at Bally's. It was crazy. All kinds of news crews along Flamingo. At the time I didn't know what was going on, but I knew it had to be major.
