Despite the problems we're going thru a lot of people have much worst situations to deal with. We havent always skipped down the sunny side of lifes street a lot of which is probably our fault but its made us stronger .

I saw this thread the other day and wanted to contribute, but wasn't sure what to write (I have many things to be thankful for but to list them all??)

A little while later, I came across a site about folks with back problems, which then led to me finding a forum with post after post of people who had back surgery in their youth (for scoliosis), and the awful issues they are having years later. I had an advanced curvature of the spine when I was younger, and my parents decided that I should have surgery to correct this... which involved fusing some vertebrae and placing a steel rod against my spine. After 2 weeks in the hospital, I was sent home in a body cast, which I wore for 9 months. It was awful and humiliating as a 14 yr old kid, but I got through it. I was never able to play sports or do anything else afterwards that could possibly result in a fall, and that is still true today.

But I've never had any issues or problems with this rod in my back (I just can't touch my toes!) So reading about all of the people that have had, and are having, major problems with the steel rod and/or complications as a result of bad placement, cracked rods, etc... I am grateful that I am still as fit and as pain-free as I am, and hope to stay that way for as long as possible. I now know that I am one of the lucky ones.

Among many other things, I’m grateful that I have an OUTSTANDING dentist! He and his staff ALWAYS make this big baby comfortable and it’s never as bad as I make it out to be in my mind ahead of time. I was there this morning.

    That's great news, @smartone!
My dentist said I needed a crown on a tooth.
He said he'd do it the following week, but I was able to do it myself:

(Hard to keep it on when I'm jogging!)

I'll bet your snow tonight looks a lot like the snow the other bunch of Wisconsin nights and that @Geogran comes back
to the VMB and agrees with me. Cuz I'm grateful for her.
Come back when you can, @Geogran!:blowkiss:

Two-hour delay for my school today.
Gave me time to do some laundry, shovel some snow, watch some Barney Miller, and snap this pic for @Geogran! :D
(Livin' the high life here, folks!)

Lots more snow expected for tomorrow afternoon, Geo!

Our oldest son and his wife close on their house today. Both kids now own their homes.

I am grateful the chance of them moving back in has just dropped dramatically.

That and the fact that they both grew up into good adults (due mostly to my wife), have good marriages and fantastic children.
