My fiance and I are now Platinum members with CET. What are the advantages of being a platinum member?

The TR website list list them all side by side so you can see what each one does or doesn't do.

Oh yeah, there's that. Since Atlantis is not on my list of destinations (I live on the WC), I hadn't thought of that:

Atlantis trip:

PLATINUM

  • Complimentary 2-night stay in the Beach Towers
  • Up to 2 additional nights at a Special Casino Rate
  • Atlantis Casino Experience Pass1
  • Access to Aquaventure, a one-of-a-kind 141-acre waterscape with 20 swimming areas and 11 pools

For complete details and to make your Platinum reservation, please contact Atlantis Casino VIP Services at 800-752-9711.

Contact Hours: Monday-Sunday 8:00am to 12:00am (midnight) ET

Separate lines at check in. Sometimes (Flamingo) use of Diamond check-in.
Separate line for buffets(Paris)
Free parking.
You can become Platinum without gambling. Get the CET Visa card. No annual fee and your reward points never expire if you use the card every so often.

Lol, this is exactly how we became platinum. Definitely not from gambling. We gamble, but not much. Thanks for all to everyone else as well. I was curious if there were other things that TR didn't state on their site. Had no idea about the Atlantis.

after 1st year you need to spend $5000 on CC to maintain platinum

Not for me. I've had the card for 3-4 years now and have been platinum the whole time while only charging a couple hundred bucks a year to the card. I've read several other stories of this happening to others as well.

directly off the TR site.
"6. Platinum Tier Status upgrade can take up to 30 days to be processed and reflected in Total Rewards account. Cardholders spending $5,000 in the current calendar year will maintain Platinum Tier Status for the following year."

Ya, I know that's what it says on the site. I'm just saying that's not the case for me and several others.

Confirmed - I didnt spend $5000 on the card and got renewed at Platinum. My feeling is that maybe for those who got the card before that new spending threshold was put in place are grandfathered in?

Yeah it's now $5K a year to stay Plat on their Visa card. There's a few nice perks. As far as Atlantis goes, I looked into it once a few months ago, I remember the taxes and fees on the "free" room were huge and combined with the cost of a room should we want to stay more than 2 nights we decided it wasn't worth it.

We just returned from six nights at Atlantis two weeks ago on my wife's last year's Diamond offer. The first four nights were comped and the last two were at the casino rate of $65 per night (we played every night for an average of four hours each).

We are now planning a trip for next January on this year's offer of four nights comped on her Diamond status and the two night comped offer on my Platinum. The only change is the resort fee will not be waived with the new offer but with the addition of the Platinum offer it is still a great value.
