I imagine most of us here on VMB are on the lookout for gadgets for our Vegas trips that will make our stays there easier, more enjoyable or streamlined. I thought I’d start a thread so we can share some ideas to enhance our trips to Vegas and beyond.

So, with that in mind I’ll kick things off. I typically go to Vegas for 10 day visits and take a minimum of two shirts for each day. That adds up to a lot of hangers, much more that are in the closet. When I get to my room the first thing I do is call housekeeping and ask for about two dozen hangers. Sometimes this takes a while and I like to get my things unpacked sorted out quickly so a lot of times this is an issue.

Presto!!! Travel hangers. Who knew? Found these on eBay and got two dozen. Quite compact and inexpensive. I tested them out and they do the job quite nicely. Two dozen of these will easily fit in my luggage.

While fully collapsed they are 3” x 6” and when fully expanded they are the size of a regular hanger, 17” wide. Very sturdy to boot.

So let’s see what some of you fellow VMBers have that makes life a little easier during your travels.

Kettle for instant coffee in the room. Nothing beats walking out of the room with a Baileys and coffee first thing in the morning. No lining up at Starbucks not to mention a few bucks saved too.

    Bose headphones.

No way I could spend 11 hours on a plane without those anymore.

Travel extension cord. I bought this awhile ago. There are now ones with USB ports. There are usually more iPhones than outlets in my room, so this gets you 4 outlets for the price of one wall outlet. DF3B31DA-C68E-4480-A4AE-BAC0693AAA85.jpeg 180B9776-0967-41EC-B47C-7684FFC175B6.jpeg

I have a travel electronic kit with a LONG extension cord and various chargers and such. I keep it packed and try not to rob it for things I need at home.

My pet peeve is when there are no convenient wall sockets, or they have those on the lamps and such that are so worn and loose the plugs fall out of them.

Not really a gadget to make things easier or even Vegas specific, but, I've traveled with this guy for around 20 years. Nothing like sitting back having a few drinks and playing the old Gameboy on a flight.

Clothes pin or chip clips to keep drapes closed. A sliver of light keeps me awake. I also carry a small fan for air circulation and noise. The noise helps me sleep.

Simple idea to keep razor sharp and not damage fingers. Free at your office too!

airPods have been great to travel with since I'm solo most of the time. I typically do a lot of walking, so I'll pop them in and listen to a podcast or some music. Easy to throw in a pocket.

It's a must for public transportation for me.

I only ever fly, but would definitely use them on the train if I ever had to use one again.

Only trouble is, I almost always fall asleep in minutes, and never get to watch my movies on the flight :D

I was so excited to share this but you beat me to it. That's perfectly ok because it became my new wonderful toy to utilize on the long flights (Although yours is a nightmare....).

But the thing I hated the most about trips to Vegas were the long flights. Now I can fly in peace and quiet and watch movies, listen to music and smile...…..

I have several gadgets/devices in my travel bag for Vegas or pretty much any travel destination...
Surge Protector - It's travel size with 3 outlet and 2 USB A ports for charging.
Extension Cord - Comes in handy when there are no outlets near the bedstand.
Portable Power Bank - Fits in my pocket, so I can easily recharge my iPhone, camera battery, etc.
Bose Noise Cancelling Earphones - I couldn't fly without it, since the noise from the jet engines always gives me a headache. It's good for block out screaming babies and kid too. LOL
Small LED Flashlight - Need to check for those pesky bed bugs in your room before you unpack.

I use to bring along one of those small humidifiers that works with bottled water to Vegas, but it really doesn't produce enough humidity to do any good so I no longer pack it.

Oh I forgot to mention: I also bring a back scratcher in my checked luggage.

A Boeing 737. Without that, I'd never make it to Vegas.

not really an accessory, and just a googled photo, but I always buy and take some nice drip-filter coffee bags like this.
It avoids having to stand and wait in a crowded line for a quality morning coffee, when I just feel like relaxing in my room all messy and chilling before breakfast.

1 - Sleep mask - Great for hotels and I use it at home,
2 - 75 watt bulb - In 65+ trips I've only found a couple of rooms with decent light.
3 - Glasses - I stop by Dollar Tree to get a cocktail glass and one for wine.
Don't like disposables and I've seen cleaning methods of "glass"
glasses on Dateline years ago. Bring your own!
