    My Trip Report

What a great time. Some winning, some losing and just a whole lot of fun.

The trip started off right when I arrived at the airport an hour and 45 minutes early. I looked at the board and another flight was leaving in a few minutes. I walk up to the counter and asked very nicely if I could get on the earlier one. "No problem, sir!" I was boarding the plane and ended up with an aisle seat, which is what I wanted in the first place. I said hello to my neighbors and then we were off. A man and his wife, around mid 30's were arguing what buffet they were going to first. They asked me to be the tie breaker for the Paris, or the Bellagio. I told them to have the Bellagio for dinner and the Paris for breakfast the next morning. The wife said that was what she read on a Vegas website. I asked her what website it was and she said it was a WONDERFUL site where everyone was so nice and helpful to her when she had questions. She then asked me if I have ever seen the Travel2Vegas.com website. I smiled and said I loved that one too. "Everyone has been so helpful over the years there for me, Mikey and Bazootch, and I really like HoyaHeel's funny posts. Vegas Jer got my husband to start playing craps as well." I laughed, and said all those people were wonderful. "But the best one on there has to be LVTerry. He is soo darn funny! I just love reading his golfing trips." So Terry, you have a big fan.

Well, we were about to land and I asked them were they were staying. The said at the Nugget, so I offered them a ride down there in the Barrick Gaming limo that was supposed to pick me up. The said sure, and when we got out the the baggage area there was a nice looking woman with a sign with my name on it. I approached her and told her we would be having two more with me and she said that would be no problem. During the ride to the Plaza, I called Scottie and asked him what was up. He told me that he had basically told the people that were complaining and staying on the strip to keep to themselves if they wouldn't shutup. We never saw them the whole trip, which put it down to 6.

I had my new friends dropped off first and they offered to by me dinner. I told them no thanks and went to the Plaza to check in. Check-in was smooth, I got my 4 room keys and went up to the suite. It was cool. It was basically three rooms together with the middle room having A nice couchbed and a bar area for the pre-venture activities. I was hungry, so I went over to the Main Street Station for dinner. Outstanding! I loaded up on the steamed crab legs, and there were some seafood enchiladas that were just so good. I had some sausage and mushroom pizza there that rivaled any of the chains out here(most of them at least...) The only downfall was the service. My waitress was there once and then never again. I saw her everywhere else EXCEPT my table. I had to flag dwon another waiter who was very eager to help me out. After that, it was great. Drink after drink after drink. When I was done, my original waitress showed up and asked if everything was okay. I told her it was when I was served by the nice gentleman over there. She flipped out saying that the other guy was stealing her tables again. He came over, I was heated, and we all started yelling at eachother when she told me I was unkind for letting him help me. The manager showed up and I calmly explained everything that happened to him. The waitress said I was lying and that she had served me the ice teas the whole time. I turned to the other guy and asked him what I had been drinking. He told me exactly what I had and how many including the switch to diet coke after the 2nd ice tea. Well done my man! I wanted no part of this bad vibe anymore so I started to walk off. The manager told me to come see him tomorrow about a free buffet for me if I was going to be there. I thanked him for the kindness and told him if so, it would be with a bigger group. "No problem Jer, just let me know."

I went back to the room for a bit to shower and change before I headed down to the casino. When I got there, I bought in at a craps table for $300 and asked if I could get a players card at the table. I was told no, but they would kep track of whatever I played so when I went and got one. No problem! I looked around, everyone was loud and the CHIP racks were plentiful. I did my standard starting bet, 10 on the pass with full odds and $54 across. Not more than 10 minute slater after hitting a few points and a hardway, I was approached by a short gentleman named Nords. He told me to come see him if I needed anything "and I mean anything...." Nice!

That table was hot, but went south so I colored up for $745 and tipped the dealers anything that wasn't black. I went over to the blackjack tables and thats were I saw and heard the "hidden treasure" that chef was talking about. great voice, you could hear it everywhere in the casino. The only bad part was that she was handing off the mic to everyone who COULD NOT sing... Darn California tourists!

Up and down in blackjack, cashed out at $75 ahead. It is now about 11:30 and I call Scottie and ask what the ETA would be. He said he was at the stateline so it wouldn't be long. He put $3 in a wheel of fortune machine and got $150 on the spin. Nice, what a way to start out the trip for my bud.

I went over to the LVC for a little while. While playing a little blckjack, I encountered an extremely rude pit boss. I was playing $25-50 a hand so I thought I should get rated at least for the short time I would be there. I asked since the Plaza and LVC were Barrick Gaming, do I need to get a new card or can I just use my Plaza card? "Did you see what the sign said when you walked in here?" Stunned I just said gimme the card. He then told me I had to go to the slot club to get it and they didn't do it at the tables for you. I pressed a little more and said I better be back rated if I get up from the table. Another boss walked by and asked what the problem was and when I explained, he pulled the other guy aside after asking for my license. I had a card in seconds... I won a few here and there, but was extremely pissed about what had happened.

Then I got the call that they were pulling into the Plaza so I made my way back there. We met up and I took them up to the room. Thats when the shots started to happen. We pulled out the shot glasses and down at least 5-10 shots of assorted alcoholic beverages( No Patron...) and polished those off with some Guiness. It was off to Glitter Gultch, because if you have never been you need to stop in at least. We were there a few hours and I seemed to talk to every girl there who commutes from California over the weekends. I'm thinking low end, they make $500 a night, so what a great way to make a few extra bucks on the side...

After that, we started going in and out of the various casinos downtown. We ended up back at the Plaza and sat down to play some Pai Gow. I bought in for $100 for the table and we wnet to work. It was funny, everyone was winning except me which was fine! Chuck and Scottie made a $125 so they each thanked me and took off to find the Wheel of Fortune slots. Rob and I stayed for awhile and before we knew it, it was 5:45 am. The others came up and we decided to go to the room for a few hours of sleep. I stopped of for a few rolls at he craps table. After ordering a few more drinks, it was me and another guy who refused to roll. When I checked out the time, it had become 8:15 rather quickly. I colored up again for a small profit and headed up to the room. I hit the bed and awoke to the sounds of housekeeping knocking at the door. I assured them that I would be ready for them later, and the other two rooms were fine as well.

Up at 11:45, we hit MSS again for brunch. great food, and it was free when I spotted the waiter I had had the night before. We played quarter wheel of fortune slots there on our way out and kept hitting the wheel a 1/3 of the time. I was the king of the 25 payout when I sun the wheel. I played an hour on 10 bucks, while the others only put in 5. Not bad I thought. Back to the Plaza to regroup and see what we wanted to go do. On the way back, Rob and I got in a deep disussion about USC and the 16 1/2 points. I said if anything, VT was going to keep it close. We both agreed that we should stay away from it. Whe we got in, Rob and Chuck went up to the room to talke care of some business. Scottie wanted to play craps, so we started up the empty table. He went on a terror... He wasn't a craps virgin, but close enough to explain how hot he was rolling. after 40 minutes, others started filtering over from the other table. It was my turn, and i had a decent roll as well, 20 minutes or so. When Scott got the dice back, he announce that evryone better jump on the hardways, he was hot. Others just laughed as we loaded up the hardway bets two ways. "Eight HARD!!!!" was the call and I parlayed mine, while Scott pressed his up to 10. He proceeded to roll all the hardways, and I parlayed them all while he stuck to his plan of pressing up to 10 on all of them. Next roll, "HARD SIX is the call, HARD SIX" NICE!!! $450 for me, and $90 for him. We were all high fiving like madmen! Next roll, I kid you not, "EIGHT HARD, eight is the call..." SCORE!!! Another $450 and $90 coming our way. This was one of the loudest tables I have ever been at, it was great. The next roll was a 7, so we all clapped and bowed to Scottie. Right about then Rob and Chuck made their way back down... They had finished one of the bottles of Jack Daniels and were slurring up a storm. The quote of the trip came from the pitboss there, "That was the most expensive Sh*t you two have ever taken, right?" The whole table erupted in laughter. It was time to hit the strip, so I went to find Nords so I could get the limo to drop us off at the Mandalay Bay. It was a done deal! Robin the Limo driver met us outside and immediately gave us her number so when we got finished there she could come and pick us up. Off to the Bay!!!

When we got there, we grabbed some cigars from the shop there and hit the sports book. I sat and pondered if I should do anything on the game. I didn't, and it would prove to be a good move on my part since I would have bet on USC if anything. We sat and watched the opening drive. Lineart looked flat, and the offense was sputtering. VT has an extremely fast defense, and USC found out pretty quick that it might be a long day for them. We started to walk out and and Scottie saw a Harley Davidson slot. He said if he won it, I could have his Mustang. The guy drops 3 quarter in it and "VROOOM, VROOM...." Oh my gawd.... We all thought he had won the bike, but it was "only" 800 quarters. Nice! Chuck wanted to watch the Red Sox game, Rob wanted tp play VP at the bar, and Scottie and I found a craps table. $10 minimum which was fine. We jumped in and bet exactly the same way as each other. The dice went to the lady on the hook, and she started to set the dice the same way everytime. Scottie looked at me and I said hopefully we would be here until morning! She proceeded to roll for an hour. It was amazing! Points, place bets, "Ohio's", you name it, she rolled it. She had one request for us though, she told us not to bet the hardways while she was rolling, and I was to be the enforcer of this. After she was done, her husband got the dice and made the same request. Basically the same thing. They had told us that they rolled an hour between the both of them the night before and the had been hot the whole trip. So, same thing was happening and after MANY doubles or jack and coke or vodka and pineapple, we had filled the first rack with green and well into our second on as well.... Points all over the place!!! He had been roling for 45 minutes and a new guy showed up to the table and bought in for $1000 and tried to put 250 on each of the hardways. I asked him nicely if he was gonna make that bet, to do it at another table. "Its my money, its a free country, and basically you can do nothing to stop me... " Kevin the dealer looked at me and just shook his head like "I'm with you, but there's nothing I can do...." "SEVEN OUT, LINE AWAY....." DAMMMMMMMMMMMMNIT! Figures, but hey...

Everyone at the table wanted to colr up if that guy was gonna stay, and we were hungry anyways. After it was all said and done, we both had $2200 and change in front of us. We both put a black on the line for them and told them to drop another $125 or so. They thanked us and we were off to the cage. Scottie kept waving his yellow chips in the air and proclaiming. "I gots da banana chips bitches!!!!" People were laughing and I almost fell down I was laughing so hard. We cashed in and found the other guys. They could tell by the way we were walking that we had scored. Scottie said, "Another expensive... Whatever you guys did..." We were hungry, but everything there had a huge wait. I called Robin and asked her to come get us to take us back to the Plaza to change and to get some food. 20 minutes later, she pulls up outside and we were off. She asked us what we were going to do that night and we said we were debating on what strip clubs to go to. She told us we should try Deja Vu. I had my reservations about the place, I call(ed) it Deja EWWWW. We arrived back at the Plaza and changed to go out and eat. As a rule, when i'm in Vegas I try not to eat at chain restaurants I can eat at while i'm at home. Some reason, Tony Romas sounded really good. We headed over to the Fremont and put our name in. I scouted out a blackjack table while we waited and proceeded to drop $300 while waiting for dinner. I wasn't pissed that I lost, it was the way that I did. I had 19 or twenty every single hand and lost 6 straight hands. Brutality at its finest at the Fremont. We got into tthe place, ordered the onion rings, which were very good. I ordered "Whatever will get me the most food" and was astonished to see my plate when she brought it. Ribs and chicken everywhere, it was tremendous. We started talking and eating, it was great. Rob and Chuck wanted to go to Deja Vu, so I said that would be fine. We finished, called Robin, and met up with her at the Plaza. "Deja Vu it is Robin...." Off we went!

When we arrived there, immediately the called out, "3 by LIMO!" We were esorted in and explained the rules by some very large gentlemen. We agreed , paid our cover, and it was go time! We got in and I started to look around the place. It had some very good looking women this time. As I read the tv screen, it said "Wednesdays are amatuer nights!" That explains it why it was so bad the night I was there. The talent on a Wednesday and the talent on the Saturday was completely different. We sat at the stage and soem really great girls did their thing. It was quite enjoyable, and two of the fellas were gone for lapdances almost instantly.

We stayed there for a few hours and then it was off to the Hard Rock. I love that place. Other than the crowds, it is my kinda place. We just hung out at the bar and watched all the people trying to hook up in there. We had a drinking game going where if a "she" walked by and it was really a "he", we finished the drink we had and the last one done had to buy the next round. After a few hours of this, we decided we needed to get home. Robin was off for the night, so we started to get in line for a cab. We couldn't see the actual end of the line so we inquired about a limo for the ride back. "No problem!" and we were taken to a limo for the way back. It was about 3 am, and we all jumped in on the craps table at the Plaza. It was now EXTREMELY cold, and $300 went to quick. I went over to play some poker while the fellas went to bed. I was so drunk and so tired, I could barely see my cards let alome the board. I remember getting a few pots and signing up for the 10 am tournament before going to bed. I woke up at 9:52 and RAN downstairs. I barely made it in time!

The tournament started, and only 10 people played in it. It was $50 to get in, and a $50 rebuy. I did that up front, so I could have some more ammo if I git crushed early, which I did... My third hand I get dealt pocket aces. I raise and get reraised, I have to go all in! He calls and shows me the pocket 4's. The table groans thinking why the guy would do that. Turns out it was the right move. The flop was A,4,4... He flopped quads and my ONLY hope was an ace to come. It didn't and he doubled up while I was forced to use my rebuy. About 3 hours later, it was down to 4. The totals were announced, $500/$250/$125 so if I slip up into the the third slot I would get a $25 profit, which I could live with. That wouldn't be the case when my pocket kings were busted out by a straight on the river. Oh well, it was fun. Right about now, it was time for the fellas to get on the road. We said our goodbyes and they were off. I felt pretty damn proud of myself to offer such a good time to the guys. I was feeling hungry, so I remembered that I got a diner comp for all of us the night before. $75 credit in the dining room for one person??/ Nice. I found a family in there and told the waiter to put their meal on my tab. Someone great on this board said he did this once, and I thought I should do the same. The final total ended up being $109, I took care of the balance, went over and introduced myself and left to go pack up to go. I put my head down and when I woke up, it was 11pm. I had missed my flight... Ouch.

I called SW and asked them to get me on the earliest flight outta there in the morning. The earliest was 7, so I jumped on it. I then called Casino Marketing and told them what happened. They said I was lucky that nobody wanted that room tonight and I could stay there no charge. Nice! I inquired about New Years, and they said they would be contacting me soon about what the availability would be.

Well, thats it... I had a great time!

After reading over again, I see all the errors... i'm just too damn lazy to fix them! [IMG]

Love that report, Jer. It’s stories like yours that got me interested in craps. So far I’ve tried craps 3 times, with no luck, but I’m not ready to give up. Especially after reading that.

I see the Hard Rock is just as fun as always. I haven’t been there for awhile but the last time I was, I had a blast. I saw this guy at the bar who looked like Jimmy Buffett, so I started talking to him. Turned out he was from California meeting some good friends there that he hadn’t seen in years. He told me he was gay and would I mind helping him play a joke on his friends. So…I pretended to be his fiance. Man, you should have seen his friends [IMG] , we had them totally fooled, they were just about speechless. I had a blast.

Yellow chips…I'd be screaming too [IMG]

Anyway, great report, for a little while there, I was back in Vegas!!

    NICE is Right!

Glad to hear you did not bet SC (Bruin Love baby).

I think it would be hillarious to run into someone from the board randomly. I remember leaving one of Mikey's thick trip reports on a seat in the LA airport hoping someone would find the board that way.

Those were some crazy craps runs! And scoring the limo is outstanding...your friends must have been bowing down to you!

I have a buddy of mine that is hooked up with Nords at the Plaza as well....says he always treats him right.

Great read man, thanks for writing it up!

    Great read Jer,
Limos, Little Sleep, Luck - That'a Vegas trip, man.

Buying dinner for a family of 4 whom you have never met with the 75.00 comp that was left over - that's class, as mentioned before, what comes around goes around, I believe that to be true as well.

If one were to sum up your trip with one word.
To use a famous phrase from LV Terry

    Nice

    Thanks...

I never did say who I was to the people next to me on the plane, but if you are reading this I hope you had a good time!

Again, I wanna hype Nords Malilay. The guy is class. If you stay at the Plaza, look him up. [IMG] [IMG]

I just received a 3 night free stay in the mail today. I emailed him saying that I might need something over New Years, and he said that isn't a problem. New Years on Freemont? Wow.....

    Happy Reading!
