Sorry about the lack of reports from Vegas. It's amazing how small the keyboard gets after a few 44 ounce mudslides. It was great to meet everybody. We are quite a diverse crew. I have a few highlights, as I will leave the official report to Mikey. I was extremely nervous playing blackjack, but did well 2 of 3 sessions. I sat next to Mikey and Jolly Green Giant for a session, and I took 100 bucks up to about 450, and Mikey did well also. Jolly Green must have done ok, soon after we all left the table, he went to get his birthday lap dances. Happy days, Jolly! Playing poker at Binion's was awesome. I played 3 sessions, buying in with a hundred bucks each time. First round I left with $191. Second round left me with about 13 dollars. I think I bought Mikeys dinner at Blackstones. Another lesson learned is NEVER RERAISE MIKEY ON THE RIVER!! My last round I left with 270.00, my best session ever, and nobody to see it. I scraped a few big pots that round. The people were betting even crazier than I was, and trying to win with a pair of 8's... We stayed at Fitzgeralds and the Plaza. Definately would revisit the Fitz, and probably stay at the Plaza again. I think they pump that smell into the entrance. Either I got used to it or it went away. We ate lots of good food. Seafood buffet at the Fitz on Wednesday night was good for 12.95. Hot crab legs and steamed mussels highlighted that meal. We ate many shrimp cocktails at the Golden Gate...yummy. The french dip was good there. I also ate the porterhouse steak dinner. It was good but not even in the same league as Delmonicos. My sister and her new husband paid for the meal, so I ate well. I had a salad that had steak pieces and onion rings on it. I follwed that with BBQ shrimp. The main course was a bone in sirloin, mashed potatoes flavored with garlic and bacon, and asparagus. Bananas Foster ice cream pie for desert. I am hoping another relative gets married soon so I can do it again. I was hungry late one night, so I went to Binions snack bar for a bowl of chili. The chili was good, and I am still trying to figure out what the secret ingredient is. I am thinking its some kind of liquor, cuz I got carded before I could have the food. We went to see Mac King at Harrahs. The show is well worth the price of admission. My wife and I laughed so hard, he thanked us after the show. We had a coupon thanks to Sunni. I took my nephew with us and paid for his ticket. We were the last people let in, and we bought the ticket 5 minutes before the show. We paid for 2 Kaluha and creams, the required purchase for the free tickets. I asked the bar tender to make it strong. He put a handful of cubes in a 16 oz glass, and filled it to an inch from the top with liquor. I had to ask for more milk several times, and he accused me of talking a good game. Definately the strongest drink I have gotten ANYWHERE. We also ended up in the front row, much to our suprise. I thought we would be sitting in the upper deck somewhere. Contrary to the poll, I did shoot craps. Even though I had to ask Heathcat and her friend what to do, I shot very well. The dice always bounced off the wall and never hit the ground. I will leave the dice to the folks that know how to play. All in all a very fun trip. Mikey and others will fill in the gaps. Bazootch Oh yeah, I still couldn't find the midget... Hey Bazootch, You scared me there for a minute with the weekend "Quickie"...thought we were going to get up close and personal Sounds like a blast, glad you enjoyed the show at Harrahs..It will be on my list of things to do. Can't wait for the rest of the reports. sunni
The Weekend Quickie sounded like a movie on on of those special channels you have to pay for! I am glad that you had a good time and can not wait for all the reports. When is the next trip?
Hey thanks for sharing... poker must be your new game now!!! that's a great win !!! be careful of the reraise at the river .. he he he Sounds like you had some pretty good luck (BJ, craps, poker).. or did you leave out the parts about the big losses? Also of interesting side note... all you hooligans are in downtown Vegas, and the La Bayou gets broken into... hummmmm, coincidence.. I think not !!! nuthin better than a Vegas Quickie .... ohh man.. no work getting done here today.
Yes, I had some MAJOR losses, but will never detail them as my wife lurks here on the board! Bazootch
It couldn't have been them-they woulda gone for the booze and still been laying on the floor. Talk about a Grain Train!
I forgot this in the "fine dining" section. My wife was adventurous and tried the fried twinkie and the chocolate covered frozen banana. Boy does Mermaids cater the freaky stuff. The twinkie was deep fried, covered in powdered sugar, then they added chocolate jimmies. My teerth hurt just watching her eat it! The banana was great, I remember getting those at Kings Island amusement park back in the day.
