I am one of 18 people left in a pretty big suicide pool (695 entries). If I win next week I win at least 1/18 of the pot (currently around $1,200). My best available options (based on early lines) are:

    Buffalo (at NYJ)
    Wash (home vs. NYG)
    Indy (home vs. Jax)
Denver (home vs. Oak) - I haven't seen a line on this one but the Oak QB situation is not good.

    Any thoughts?

    Thanks

I cannot see J-E-T-S being motivated for this game
Last two weeks combined they have lost 75-16 to division rivals.

From the OP's list, I would pick Washington because they are the only team that theoretically still has something to play for. Games are on January 1st. I would hate to handicap which teams are actually going to play hard the day after NYE when they have nothing to play for. DC still has a slim shot at the playoffs, so hopefully they will stay focussed

The Jets gave up three weeks ago--as usual--like the fighting bills in this one

Thanks, I'm leaning toward Wash for the reasons you mention and also the fact that the Giants don't have anything to play for and will likely rest some of the starters for part/all of the game. Bills are in the mix because of what 93 said, I don't trust the Jets at all and, I don't know how much it translates to the players, but Rex still has it out for the Jets and would love to beat them. Indy and Denver are out of the mix from my original post. Now I just need the 17 others to lose so I can win the full pot of $21k.:)

here's my take on it (and I'm usually wrong)

Jets stink and their coach is a little ill. They have little motivation to play hard.
Washington has something to play for and the Giants do not. But the Giants were a little flat against a motivated EAGLES team last week so they might bounce back and play hard.
Indy at Jax. They are both unpredictable teams. I'd steer clear of this one unless you have a strong feeling either way.
Denver got embarrassed last night on national TV. They will want to end the year without the sour taste of defeat in their mouths. Oakland needs to get a new QB into the mix and they're not going to play soft. They need to get ready for the playoffs. Hard to pick this one.

Overall, I'd bet against the JETS. But again, I'm really bad at picking football winners.

Now that the Bills have fired Rex and are not starting Taylor at QB the Bills are pretty toxic. Yes I know the Jets are awful but I have no idea what to expect from the Bill. The spread is already down to 3.5.

I agree. The Bills clearly do not care about winning that game.

I hope you're right. An Atlanta win will allow me to push my NOR season win total bet (and thus make a profit on those bets for the year)

Wash all day. They HAVE to win. Win and they're in. NYG is playing for nothing. Go.

If not ATS, Washington easy. Manning will be having a Hot Dog & cold one by Q2.

Be careful with skins - they "had" to win the other night against a panther team playing for nothing and you saw what happened there

I have bruised bankroll as evidence

Thanks for the input everyone, I ended up going with the Colts. While it was't pretty, a win is a win.
