    My Trip Report

If you read this novel and fall asleep I understand. I thought of breaking this into multiple reports but what the hell

Basics: 12 nites Golden Nugget parlor suite Gold Tower and 4 at Cosmopolitan.wrap around balcony blvd tower
Made reservations in advance for dinner 10 of the nites.
Flew Delta first class, flights on time no craziness from I'm not wearing a mask on flight.
Me blackjack, slots and wife slots.
Some days we won, some we lost.
Mask compliance in casinos good. My mask of choice KN95 I didn't think I could handle that for a 3 and 1/2 hour + flight BUT no problem. I tried it out at home the day before, I like the duckbill on KN95 for me makes it easier to talk and breathe Wife wore the blue masks.
I'd say the masks are a minor inconvenience BUT not the end of the world

The Good: Food Vic and Anthony's at GN, Hugo's at 4Q, Cadillac at GN, Amalfi at Caesar's, 8 East at Circa, Magnolias at 4Q was our go to for breakfast and lunch, they don't take reservations but the longest wait was 20 minutes, Chart House at GN, and room service at Cosmo.

The Bad: Food Oscar's at the Plaza....we both ordered the rib cap but the meat on our plates was not that, also the waiter left a lot to be desired.

Amalfi's best meal of the trip BUT the server dropped the ball twice...we ordered the squash blossoms as an app but they never came, brought it to her attention, she said she forgot..ok an honest answer, I can live with that and she'd get them right out. They came AFTER the meal. Not sure if she was new or just too intense as when we first sat down she gave a 10 minute lecture on the fish available, they only had 4 !!! I saw some other tables with fish and they were huge no way two of us could have eaten it.

The Henry at Cosmo: this blew my mind :wink2:, 1 pm weekday no wait, our waiter was at next table giving a dissertation on cryptocurrency, this went on for 5 minutes, he left came back to that same table and continued the cryto informercial so we left. AS we leave he comes to us and says was something wrong? I said yes we've been waiting while you're at the other table talking. He said I was taking their order.. BUSTED  I said they already had their food and you were going on about cryptocurrency, he said well they asked, bye bye. He continued to argue. Didn't expect that.

The Good on gambling: Willy Wonka slot, the space invader or alien slot the one with the cows..played for hours. 3:2 DD at Fremont $10 and $25.

BJ $4400 win at GN. BJ $2800 win at Fremont. No plexiglass at GN, none at Fremont but Cosmo had it at some tables.

The Bad: GN only 3:2 DD bj $100, one day they had a $50 all in High Roller rest 6:5, alot of UTH on the floor. Craps $10, $15 3x4x5x at Cosmo $25. BJ at Cosmo $25 3:2 out of a shoe.

The Good: 3:2 DD bj at Fremont $10, $25.

The Bad: GN suffering staffing issues: we've stayed there 15 + years and first time on arrival on weekday no bellman, no door man, on weekend I did see them. I knew in advance no room service, different restaurant hours..what's up with the Grotto only open Fri and Sat? 24 hour notice for housekeeping BUT whatever you need they got it to you within an hour.

I did NOT know elevator issues, they have 6 at Gold Tower and one was used each day for housekeeping as the service elevators are wating on parts and they always had another out each day for God knows what.. That was a pain especially during Life is Beautiful and Punk Rock bowling as hotel was packed.

The Good; Cosmo seems fully staffed, bellman, room service. I think bigger hotels may have more staff vs smaller ones.

The Bad: 45 people in a GN suite across the hall for Life is Beautiful, Walgreens locks up air freshner and alot of other things, I can understand.

The Ugly: Fremont Street is disgusting but I commented on that in reply to another poster. GN security daily
homeless chasing, A lady at casino table no mask but everyone else was masked. Had oysters 3 times got sick twice, lesson learned. I've eaten oysters all my life FIRST time sick.

The Good: no problem with Uber longest wait 5 - 10 minutes. Circa is a beautiful hotel and I like that they ID everyone, takes the homeless out off the equation. ABC store on Fremont.

Wrap Up: Would we go back? Hell yes.

So if Anyone was able to get through this report you've got stamina :headbang:

Any questions feel free to post.

Nice report. Very concise. I've seen longer posts about people leaving their dogs at home. Glad you had a good time.

I like your style of reporting, lots of good info in a condensed manner. Good on you for addressing the crypto server, hope he got the wake up call.

Curious on the 24 hour notice for housekeeping - since you stayed 12 nites at GN, how often do they change the bed linens?

    Thanks for sharing!

For better or worse we did not have sheets changed, they said every 7 days BUT we did call housekeeping for fresh towels, toilet paper, etc. delivered within an hour.

Yes that blew my mind as I had heard good things too.

As you probably know the rib cap is the most tender...the outer rim of the prime rib. Both of us ordered this and what we got were big tough hunks of meat. Who knows what it was?

16 nights would require a lot of discipline but would be great to not feel rushed to fit it all in. Congratulations on the BJ wins.

Thanks for the report. I detest asshole servers who get argumentative. I too found Uber to be fast, courteous and clean.

Enjoyed all your details! Sucks about the elevators....and the party across the hall. I had noticed some homeless wandering into GN during my last stay. There are some nooks that it seems to take Security awhile to wander thru.
    Thanks for posting!

Enjoyed reading. Thanks for the review on Oscars. We were thinking about trying next trip but may move it to the bottom of the list for now. Thanks for sharing!
