I played yesterday in Kansas. No sign of shutting down for now.

OH shut down the courses for a few days then opened back up. OH has stated very loudly that recreation and metal health are related. Golf course were deemed essential to help with recreation. As soon as I get my SBA application in I hope to get a quick 9 in.

I saw people playing in NE Ohio today. One golfer per cart.

@Ten_On_The_End yep mandated by the state. A bunch of others as well. I think I will start walking. Lord knows I could use the exercise, it also helps slow my swing down. That’s always a plus.

We closed 2 weeks ago in Mass., my last round .They implemented raised cups so you wont touch the pin or reach in the hole.

Obviously it's uncharted waters and a very fluid situation.

The obvious concern is contact. The raised-cup thing above was cooked up weeks ago by some enterprising clubs. And with the new rules package there hasn't been a reason to touch the stick all year, anyway. Point-of-sale and carts are the two real keys, but both of them can be dealt with; for the latter, just park 'em and I'm sorry if you can't walk 9 or 18 but the system isn't perfect. I know some are going to one-per and sanitizing after each round, but how effective is the cart-barn kid? Park 'em, it's a sport. Private clubs don't have to worry about the $$$ exchange. Just track Mr. Jones and Ms. Franklin coming in, make a notation. For public, the no-touch CC pad, exact cash into a box, pre-pay online all work. Again, if ever there was a sport made for separation it's golf. Hell, half of us hit it left, the other half hit it right ... it's built in.

God know I suck at golf but I would love to get out and hit the crap out of the little white ball while having a few bottle/cans of aiming fluid.

With all of the useless businesses that are currently deemed essential I’m not sure how you shut down all golf in any state. All it takes is a few simple modifications to the rules to make every golf course safe for social distancing.
