Vortex at Linq

Anybody been there? We are looking at a possible Vegas adventure for New Years and one of the option is a NY Party at Vortex with booze and food etc. We are balancing this vs invites to a fancier gig at PH and a dinner/dance at Paris.
Vortex sounds like the most fun but our concern is the weather. If it is as cold in Vegas for New Years as the last time I was there, all of a sudden a roof top party doesn't sound like a good idea.
So has anyone been there and are you able to provide some insight? Would this be a fun gig for NY?

Had the same options last year and I ended up going with the PH dinner party. The food was great but it wasn't all that interesting for me. The music/singers/bands they had on weren't really my taste--rock/70s/80s? if I recall. Let us know how the Linq party is if you do go with that!
