Virgin America got approval to fly up to four flights a day (instead of the one flight a day which they have now) from Reagan to SFO. This should be good for those in the Wash DC area also thinking sale when they start service. Good luck.

I live in the District, and I think a lot of good things are happening with Reagan National. This is one of them, and Southwest getting some slots is an upgrade as well, I think. Granted, that's partially because I'm in their Rapid Rewards program, so I'm biased, but it could still represent some reasonably cost-effective flights into and out of the only airport that's on the Metro system. The alternative has either been (a) pay a sizable premium to fly through Reagan, or (b) save money but haul all the way to BWI or Dulles. Anything that makes Reagan easier and/or a reduced premium is fine by me.
